The Dinos go 4-2, but it's enough to take over the top spot in the Power Rankings and move within six points of the Bats in the ELO Rankings. The top weeks though belonged to Hartford and New Orleans, who each went 5-1. The Voodoo now have a 94.6% chance of making the playoffs, while Maine and Indy are fighting for the final wildcard spot in the Domestic. On the flip side poor Toronto went 1-6 as they bumped their odds up to 52% for getting the first overall pick next year. Some team stats: New Orleans scored 41 runs (TOR 8), SDR hit 11 home runs (MON/DEN 1), Dallas hit .320 (Tor .189), Maine allowed only 16 runs (TOR 42), and opponents hit .180 off of Windy City (TOR .343).

Performance of the Week
P Cayden Wittmeyer - We said that Wittmeyer would be an issue for the Kodiaks and he was. On September 14th he pitched a complete game shut-out as he only allowed three hits, one walk, and struck out 11. It's his 11th complete game of the season, and third complete game shut-out this year. On the season Witt is 16-10 with a 2.76 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 5.1 WAR, and 145 ERA+. We'd say Pale Ale, but teammate Norm Aouita might have that one locked up. Pilots fans would like to thank Guides fans for those two.
Prospect of the Week
2B Rory Elia Jr. - At only 15 years old scouts are already fawning over the son of the legend. The report states now that "if Elia Jr. fulfills his potential, he could make multiple trips to the All-Star game." In his freshman year he hit .345/.389/.644 with 14 HRs and 41 RBIs in 40 games. He was born in 2040 in Denver, CO, the same year his 'old man' was playing for the Bulls and hit .312 with 35 HRs and 119 RBIs.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Indy went 2-1 against Maine last week, exactly what they needed to do, and they are now one game back from the Guides for the final wildcard spot in the Domestic. They both have 10 games remaining, with the Clowns having seven at home and the Guides having three at home. Indy gets Syracuse, Wilmington, and Pawtucket to finish it off, while Maine gets to play Pawtucket, Montreal, and Pittsburgh. Considering Pawtucket and New Orleans only have a two-game lead on Maine, nothing is really for certain yet in the DL. Well that is other than Syracuse is going to win their first division title since 2044, and Dallas and Santa Domingo being playoff bound.
2. Elias 'Clapper' Owen and Kenny West are neck and neck for the stolen base title this season. They've both more than likely won their respective leagues, but in the BLB they are tied at 80 each. For West it is the fourth straight year he has had 80 or more stolen bases, while Owen is back after only swiping 59 bases last season. For those that don't remember, Owen set the single season record with 115 stolen bases in 2052, the same year West stole 98 (which would have broken the single season record). Owen is only 25 years old, and has 446 total stolen bases, ranking him 31st all-time already. Meanwhile West is 30 and has 473 total steals, putting him at 25th all-time. By the time they are done West could finish top five all-time, while Owen could surpass the great Richie 'Powder' van Luik who holds the career record with 935 total swipes.
3. Cory 'Boy Scout' Petit won the Domestic Player of the Week this past week, the first time he did it since September of 2052. After spending part of his time in AAA last season, he's got to stay in the BLB the entire season and he's hitting .309/.351/.459 with 13 HRs, 53 RBIs, and a 120 OPS+. Yes it's a far cry from his Stout Slugger/New Brew/Designated Driver 2052 season where he put up a 7.4 WAR...but it's good to see 'Boy Scout' back in the league. Did we mention that New Orleans is 81-71 and darn near playoff bound? Petit's first two seasons the Voodoo went to the playoffs. Then last season he was sent to AAA and they won 69 games. Apparently he's their good luck charm.
4. The tide changed, at least for this season, as Hartford, Pittsburgh, Wilmington, Denver, and Carolina will now officially miss the playoffs after all going to the postseason in 2054. Teams that missed the postseason last year and have already punched their ticket are Baltimore, Santo Domingo, and Windy City. For the Blues it will be their first trip to the postseason since 2046. Other teams in the running to return are New Orleans, Maine, and Indy...and we already know two of those three will make it. It's always nice to see new faces come playoff time, unless you are an old face that didn't quite make it back.
5. What's on tap? We get some top series this week as LAD travels to Seattle, and Dallas heads to Santo Domingo, but all those teams are already playoff bound. Some match-ups of interest though are Wilmington at Indy and Maine at Montreal. Can the Wildcats and Exports play spoiler? Throw in Pawtucket at Maine and the Guides have quite the week. Streak wise Batavia and Phoenix have lost four straight, Dane Jennings (SDR) has a 15 game hitting streak, Charlie Guevin (CAL) has converted 35 straight save opportunities, Logan Gissendaner (DAL) has won 11 straight decisions, and Latif Won (SYR) has hit a home run in three straight games.
