Five teams went 5-2, five teams went 2-5. The haves and the have nots. The winners...Dallas, Carolina, Philly, Montreal, and Wilmington. The not-so winners...Phoenix, Denver, Hartford, Toronto, and New York. We also have a new team atop the Power Rankings, the defending champions Washington Bats. At 104-55 they have the most wins in the league, an amazing 24 game division lead, and their third straight division title. All hail the Bats.

Performance of the Week
SS Owen Batten - The 31 year old is known for his amazing defense, with his career +38.9 ZR at shortstop being exhibit number one. This past week though he turned it up with his bat. On September 26th against Santo Domingo he cracked two home runs, drove in six, and scored twice in a 10-3 victory. On the season he's hitting .240 with 17 HR and 59 RBI.
Prospect of the Week
P Warren 'Gizmo' Lallier - The 18 year old from Iowa will be a junior at ASU next season and scouts think he could be a future #2 in the BLB. Considering coaches also rave about his work ethic, and well that's a good combination to have. This past season he started 10 games and went 4-3 with a 2.22 ERA, 70 K's, and only 15 walks.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. The Import playoff teams have been decided, with only the order to be determined. In the Domestic though things are still up in the air. Maine has clinched the division, while Dallas and New Orleans have clinched playoff spots. The final three spots will come down to Santo Domingo, Pittsburgh, Pawtucket, Indy, Hartford, and Toronto. The favorites are the Rum Runners (99.8%), Millers (97.4%) and Patriots (76.2%). Indy sits just under 25%, while Hartford and Toronto are living on a prayer. Never say never though.
2. The minor league playoffs are wrapping up, with one league already having crowned a champion. Congrats to the A ball Lexington Distillers (SDR) who defeated the Rockeville Redhawks (LAD) 2-0. It's Lexington's first title since 2030 and fourth overall. In AAA we have Memphis (IND) and Juarez (BAT) tied at one. In AA we have Miramar (SDR) and Washington (SEA) tied at one. Finally in the Rookie League we have Niagara Falls (TOR) and Puhi (LAD) tied at one. Every since the minor league re-alignment it's been a lot of fun to watch the future Import and Domestic stars do battle come championship time.
3. Phoenix hasn't had a lot to cheer about this year, but this past week Pat 'Melody' Nunes gave them something to celebrate. With five hits on the week, including three against Carolina in one game, he passed Dani Trujillo for second all-time in career hits. Nunes is now second all-time in hits and home runs, as the 44 year old just keeps on swinging. It's been very fitting that the team that drafted him, and who he played for the first six season of his career, has given him this opportunity. Hats off to the Roadrunners management.
4. The Bats never rest. After being the first team to eclipse the 100 win mark their front office was not one to sit back and celebrate. Instead they signed first basemen Joseph 'Llama' Llamas and closer Bailey Feder both to three year extensions this past week. Feder has appeared in 64 games, and is 6-4 with 36 saves and a 3.64 ERA. He was a 7th round pick by the Bats back in 2043 and has been a big part of their bullpen the last five seasons. Meanwhile Llamas was a third round pick by California who was let walk after 2052. So he signed a MLC with Washington and proceeded to hit .276 with 28 HR and 80 RBI. His reward is a cool $14.4 million in the bank.
5. What's on tap? Well it's quite simple this week...Seattle at California for the Bock title. The Pilots currently have a one game lead, so in reality these teams could play four straight including a one-game playoff if needed. Cali leads the season series 5-4 but Seattle has been the hot team the past few months. Since July 1st they are 25 games over .500, the best in the league. Streak wise Collin 'Prince' Maloney (DAL) has a 23 game hitting streak, Dane Jennings (SDR) has a 13 game hitting streak, and Philly has won five straight.
