It was a well rounded week as three teams went 5-2 (Dallas, Pawtucket, California) and three teams went 2-5 (Wilmington, Denver, Baltimore). With most teams playing seven here were some team leaders: Dallas scored 60 runs (Pho 18), Phoenix allowed only 15 runs (HAR 49), New Orleans smashed 9 home runs (MON 2), Pawtucket out slugged everyone at .524 (LAD .353), Indy swiped 21 bases (NO/WIL 1), and Seattle struck out 81 batters (SYR 30).

Performance of the Week
3B Beau Pruett - Beau and his manly beard turned in the #2 hitting performance of the season this past week. On June 18th against Toronto he racked up five hits in five at bats, hit two home runs, drove in four, and scored five times in a 15-5 drubbing of the Canadians. The second overall pick of the 2048 draft by SDR is only 25 and one of the bright young stars that the Rum Runners are building around. On the season he's hitting .300/.365/.528 with 12 HR and 43 RBI.
Prospect of the Week
2B Rayshaun 'Awesome' Stuart - The 4th overall pick of this past weeks draft debuted as the 9th overall prospect in the league. At 17 years old he was a 3x HS All-Star where he played 160 games and hit .345/.431/.731 with 64 HR and 176 RBI. The Roadrunners fans might be suffering now, but with guys like 'Awesome' in the pipeline they won't have to wait long to start cheering again.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. We'd like to apologize to JaQuan Wamugunda. After getting so much press lately it doomed him. In the first two starts of the month he had 18 IP, 0 runs, 4 hits, and 27 K's. In his last two starts last week he had 9.2 IP, 16 runs, 19 hits, and 12 K's. Mama always said there would be weeks like this. The 28 year old is still a top 10 pitcher in the league though and is only making $1.09 million this season. The next two seasons though he will make a cool $40.8 million total, so that should help pay some bills.
2. Aubrey 'Gypsy' Albano is at it again with another hit streak...this time it's at 25 games. Remarkably this is his 8th hitting streak longer than 20 games in his career, which is more than anyone in the history of the BLB. The 32 year old is in his 13th season in the majors, been an 8x All-Star, 3x DWI winner at second base, and is a career .335 hitter.

3. The BLB draft was held this past week and the New York Cyclones are neck and neck with the Wilmington Wildcats for the top system in the league. The Cyclones feature 1B Rob Detling who is the highest rated hitter in the minors. They have four more batters in the top 100, and four pitchers in the top 40. Sounds like good times are a coming. Meanwhile the Wildcats have an unheard of six pitchers in the top 100, with three of them being in the top 15. They don't have a single hitter but they do have a young lineup that features 21 year old 2B Vince Cox, 23 year old SS Irv Macura, and 24 year old LF Ricky Douglas.
4. Last week it was Ben Clewley who reached 800 extra base hits, becoming the 95th player in league history to do so. This week it was Seattle first basemen Adrian Gramling who accomplished the feat, thus becoming the 96th player in the league history to do so. The 32 year old is a 5x All-Star who helped lead the Washington Bats to the 2046 title. After 2050 he was allowed to walk and Seattle scooped him up with a 5 year/$70m deal. Since then he's posted a 4.7 WAR, 5.5 WAR, and is on pace for a 3.6 WAR this season. He's a lifetime .281 hitter with 337 HR, 1045 RBI, and a 131 OPS+.
5. What's on tap? Seattle runs the gauntlet this week as they travel to California before hosting Washington to close out the week. The Pilots are 3-3 against the Kodiaks this season while they are 3-1 against the Bats. We also get a fun matchup between Dallas and Santo Domingo. The four hour plus flight from DFW to Cuba will be the 7th time these teams have faced off this season. SDR holds the 4-2 advantage and at 40-32 they are only 4.5 games behind the Drillers for the division lead. Streak wise Montreal has won four straight, 'Gypsy' has a 25 game hitting streak going, Jannero Peter (BAL) has won 11 straight decisions, Cayden Wittmeyer (SEA) has won 8 straight decisions, and closer Jude Rackley (TOR) is on a 13 game losing streak (when he isn't picking up saves).
