The 'Bomb' Cyclones and the Millers go shooting up the Power Rankings this week as they each went 6-1. NYC swept powerhouse Philly and took three of four from Denver, while Pittsburgh swept Dallas and took two of three from Syracuse. Other nice weeks were California who went 5-1, while Windy City and Hartford went 5-2. On the other side of life LAD, Dallas, and Carolina went 1-6, while Philly went 1-5.

Performance of the Week
P Reid Rothstein - On June 23rd against Phoenix he ran over the Road Runners with a 7 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 13 K, 0 BB performance in a 2-1 victory. To make his week even better on June 17th against Batavia in his previous start he went 7.2 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 11 K, 0 BB. On the season he's now 8-2 with a 2.93 ERA, 112 K, 15 BB, and a 134 ERA+.
Prospect of the Week
RF Justin Knight - The 20 year old...yes he's 20...was the 2nd overall pick in the draft last week by Montreal. In his first week in A ball he hit .531 with 4 HR, 10 RBI and put up a 316 OPS+. He was a 3x NCAA All-Star at Long Beach State, and over the four years he was there he hit .361 with 57 HR and 196 RBI. We aren't joking when we think if he went straight to the BLB that he would get some votes for New Brew by seasons end.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Looking at the 'Astounding Ale' it has done quite the feat, as it's almost the end of June and every team is .500 or better. If you put last place Hartford and Indy in the Lager, at 36-36 they would be only two games out of first. As it is now though they trail Pawtucket by nine games. Winning the division though isn't important, it's just getting to the dance. And every Ale team would either be in or have a chance to, as the Whalers and Clowns would be in a one-game playoff.
2. Some milestones this week as Seattle's Colby 'Mirror' Hullinger reached 2000 career hits, while Pawtucket's Charlie Guevin notched his 300th career save. Hullinger was the third overall pick of the 2035 draft by New Orleans, and has turned into one of the greatest to ever play. The 7x All-Star, 7x Designated Driver and 3x Stout Slugger is a career .292 hitter with 370 HR, 1148 RBI, 515 SB, and a 80.8 WAR. Guevin meanwhile was the 24th overall pick of the 2040 draft by the Patriots. He has turned into a 5x All-Star and 3x Last Call award winner. Since 2046 he has been the closer on the team and he has racked up 300 saves with a 2.23 ERA and 178 ERA+.
3. Some big injuries rocked the league this week. First the Bulldogs lost Lukas Lorey for eight months after finding out he had to have surgery on his elbow. The 29 year old was 3-9 with a 3.76 ERA and 106 ERA+ on the season. Then the Bats lost SS Julian 'Skeeter' Ludin for 5-6 weeks with ligament damage in his ankle. The 26 year old was a second round pick in 2043 and has started almost every game at short stop for Washington since 2048. This season he was hitting .340 with 10 HR, 39 RBI, and 25 stolen bases. Next up was New York who lost starter Daishawn Aguayo for nine months with shoulder inflammation. He had just returned from a 13 month injury where he tore his UCL and was 1-1 with a 2.87 ERA. The Blues lost starter Efren 'Bear' Deas for six months after he tore his flexor tendon. The 25 year old was 4-5 with a 4.60 ERA. Then Wilmington lost center fielder Ricky Douglas for a month when he hurt his hammy making a play in the outfield. Drafted 2nd overall in 2049 he's in his first full season where he is hitting .322 with 18 RBI and 5 SB. Pawtucket then lost starter Blake Visco for 5-6 weeks with a rotator cuff strain. The 28 year old was a 7th round pick by Dallas back in 2044 but traded to Pawtucket this season. He has the ability, but has struggled with a 3-2 record and 5.06 ERA. Finally it was Carolina who suffered the injury bug as Kevin 'Dingus' Tickles tore his flexor tendon and will be out for nine months. Goodness what a week.
4. Dawson Lamb (NO) and Jericho Gurgenidze (PAW) got paid this week. Lamb signed a nice 2-year extension worth a cool $40,000,000, while Gurgenidze got a 3 year/$35,000,000 extension. Lamb has only been to one All-Star game in his career, but he has been consistently very good. Over his career he is 138-79 with a 3.18 ERA and 125 ERA+. Gurgenidze was signed by Pawtucket in 2042 for $2.5m out of Estonia. He is a defensive wizard at third where he's been a 5-year starter and posted an amazing +75.7 zone rating.
5. What's on tap? This week Washington gets the gauntlet as they travel to Philly and then Denver to close out the week. The Freedom hold a 4-2 series lead on the season, while the Bats and Bulls are tied 2-2. Maine also gets a treat as they travel to first place New Orleans. The Guides though have five more wins than the Voodoo, and lead the season series 2-1. Steak wise the Millers have won six straight, the Tobs have lost five straight, Walter Worhsam (NYC) has a 20 game hitting streak and Dez Swanson (IND) has a 19 game hitting streak going.
