Phoenix and Toronto take the league by storm as they dominate the competition with 5-1 weeks. The Roadrunners were able to sweep the mighty Bats, while the Canadians swept Dallas before taking two of three from Pittsburgh. Other nice weeks were California and Philly who each went 5-2. Those Kodiaks now boast the best record in the league and sit atop the Power Rankings once again. On the other end of the stick Dallas, Windy City, and New York all went 1-5. Players of the Week were Max Klein of the Indy Racers, and Rick Anderson of the Roadrunners.

Performance of the Week
3B Jett Speer - For a guy named Jett he doesn't run much, but he sure can get hot with the bat. On June 24th against Hartford he turned in the #2 hitting performance of the season when he had four hits, one home run, drove in six, and scored three times in a 16-4 victory. On the season the 27 year old is hitting .228 with 3 HR and 19 RBI in 41 games. Acquired earlier this season from California, Speer was a first round pick back in 2044 by the Kodiaks after playing college ball at Cal.
Prospect of the Week
2B William Adkins - Recently called up by the Snappers, Adkins has started out hot by hitting .343 with 1 HR and 8 RBI in 26 games. After starting the season in AAA and hitting .387 in 34 games, the former 7th overall pick from the 2048 draft got invited to the show. He can play almost any infield position and his ability to get the bat on the ball, and rarely strike out, could make him a cornerstone for the franchise.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Thirty-four year old Joey Robertson finally has a home after Santo Domingo signed him to a one year, $11.65m contract this past week. The 34 year old was a lifelong Kodiak who was drafted first overall by California in 2034 and played there from 2037 to 2050. During that time he was a 9x All-Star, 5x Designated Driver, 4x DWI winner, and helped the Kodiaks capture the 2043 Brewmasters Cup. He is a career .283 hitter with 366 HR, 1100 RBI, and 1072 runs scored. All though his bat isn't what it used to be, he is still an all-star caliber fielder and will bring a positive presence to the locker room.
2. Toronto first basemen Pat 'Melody' Nunes is on pace to hit .342 with 30 HR and 100 RBI...at the age of 42. If he accomplishes those totals, it will give him over 100 home runs and 200 RBI since he turned 40 years old. His 169 OPS+ for the season is the highest of the career, and 38 points above his career average. He's currently 6th all-time in career home runs, and could easily move into 5th by the end of the season. Considering he is known for his love of money above all else, he might just keep playing on one-year contracts until he's 50.
3. We talked about Wilmington's Elias 'Clapper' Owen being the new 'Powder' earlier in the season, and he's living up to the expectations. His 49 stolen bases lead the league, as Miami's Zeke Lebron is currently second way back at 35. Owen is projected to steal 110 bases, which would break the record of 93 set by Chadd Chua in 2049. At only 21 years old, 'Clapper' has a chance to be one of the best in the business for a long, long time. Owen slipped to the second round of the 2047 draft, even after hitting .396 and stealing 54 bases in high school, and it appears the Clowns found a star that almost every other team passed up.
4. Speaking of 'Powder', Richie van Luik is on pace to finish this season with 901 career steals, or 224 more than second place. He has been replaced as a full-time starter in the Seattle outfield, but he's still managed to hit .326/.398/.465 with 10 RBI and 7 SB on the season. He's in the last season of his monster $135m contract he signed in 2046, but for a guy who won the Stout Slugger back in 2039 when he hit an all-time high of .402, he still swings a mean bat.
5. What's on tap? Well we get some great match-ups this week as Washington and Los Angeles do battle with some of the leagues best. In the first series Baltimore travels to first place Washington, where the Bulldogs have won five of the six meetings so far this season. In the second series first place California travels down the road to Los Angeles, and in the final series...yes you guessed it...Washington heads cross county to visit the Dinos for a four game series. Streak wise the Roadrunners have won five in a row, the Bats have lost four in a row, Pawtucket's Jericho Gurgenidze has a 16 game hitting streak, and Santo Domingon's Bradley Beehn has a nine game losing streak going.
