The Patriots go 3-3 but maintain their strangle hold on the Ale with a 20-5 overall record and eight game lead. Meanwhile the Bulldogs went shooting up the Power Rankings after going 5-2 with a sweep of Washington. Baltimore is now 17-10 and leads the Bats by half a game in the Stout. On the other side of life those same Bats went 1-5 but were only outscored by three runs during the entire week. They had three one-loss games, including a 14 inning marathon that didn't go there way against the Bulls.

Performance of the Week
P Tom Lemings - The 31 year old from Las Vegas, Nevada, tossed the first no-hitter of the season, and first since 2049, this past week on May 2nd against Phoenix. Over the course of the game he struck out nine and walked two. The last no-hitter in the BLB was September 22, 2049, when Shiro Casco of the Bulldogs threw one against New York.
Prospect of the Week
LF Mason Tomczyk - As a 4x Cape Cod League All-Star, the 20 year old looks to be a top pick in the upcoming BLB draft. This season he's hitting .297/.387/.505 with 10 HR, 35 RBI, and 6 SB while playing 49 games in left field.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Elias 'Clapper' Owen is the next Richie 'Powder' van Luik...or so the whispers say. That's a lot to put on the plate of the 21 year old, but if anyone has the raw ability it's 'Clapper'. Drafted in the second round by Wilmington in 2047 he played in 44 games last season and showed he was more than ready for the show. Now in 24 games this season he's hitting .326 and and has already stolen 19 bases. He's on pace for 123 and there isn't a single player in the league who has his ability to put the bat on the ball, not strikeout, and run like the wind.
2. Speaking of 'Powder', he now has 886 stolen bases in his career. That's 209 more than second place, Jerry 'Roid' Daly. The 100th ranked player in stolen bases is Ernie Bornstein, not a household name, with 251. If Luik plays a few more seasons he could have enough stolen bases after he broke the record to put him in the Top 100 all-time.
3. Seven teams in the Import are at .500 or better. Over in the Domestic there are three, Pawtucket, Dallas, and Toronto. Between free agency and trades we've definitely seen the power shift to the Import as most of the odds on favorites to win it all this season reside over there. At least the Domestic has the Patriots going for it. So far against the Import they are 5-1 with a three game sweep of Miami while taking two of three against Philly.
4. We talked about Sage Emerson last week and then he goes out and wins the Player of the Week with a .500/4 HR/10 RBI performance against Toronto and Pawtucket. On the season he's hitting .303/.407/.657 with 9 HR and 25 RBI. The scary thing is he isn't fully developed yet according to scouts around the league. At 23 have the Whalers found their next Ron 'Vampire' Hutchison?
5. What's on tap? We have a fun three game series this week as the Washington Bats travel across the country to face the Los Angeles Dinos. Washington is a half game back in the Stout, while LAD is tied with Seattle for the Bock lead. The Bats sit at the top of most of the major pitching categories, while LAD is second. The difference is the Bats are near the top in most of the hitting statistics while the Dinos are sixth in the IL in average and seventh in runs scored. Streak wise only the Canadians have a winning streak longer than three, as they currently sit at four games. Individual wise Abel 'Stumpy' Valley lost his hit streak at 28 games, so next up is Montreal's 20 year old Colton Constable who sits at 17 games.
