On the other side of life Seattle and Santo Domingo each went 1-6 after being the recipients of four game sweeps by the above Red Jackets and Millers respectively. Some team leaders: Pit scored 54 runs (SDR/Car 17), Phoenix allowed 14 runs (Mon 52), New York hit 14 HR (NO 1), and Batavia struck out 85 opposing batter (Har 41).

Performance of the Week
1B Pat 'Melody' Nunes - New uniform, same Nunes. After being signed by Maine to a one year deal just 10 days ago he turned in the fourth best hitting performance of the season yesterday against Montreal. In five at bats he had four hits, two HR, drove in five, and scored three times in a 13-4 victory. The 41 year old has played in just seven games and already has 3 HR and 8 RBI while hitting .321/.406/.643.
Prospect of the Week
C Devin Geertz - The 20 year old catcher is wrapping up his fourth year in the CCBL with the Red Sox and already has quite the impressive trophy case. He's won the Platinum Stick award at catcher each of his first three seasons, he won the 2048 CCBL Outstanding Hitter Award, and finished second in 2047 and 2049, and he's a 4x All-Star. This season he's hitting .393/.462/.628 with 10 HR, 37 RBI, and only 15 K's in 183 at bats.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Not only did Maine pick up Pat Nunes two weeks ago, but they signed James 'Wacky' Vandehey the day after. It's a homecoming for 'Wacky' as he was drafted by Maine with the fifth overall pick of the 2037 draft. In his time there he was a 2x All-Star while hitting .280 with 107 HR over the course of about four seasons. Between those two, and Logan Fleshman set to come off the IL next week, the Guides could find themselves in the playoffs. Maybe though they could add one more star to the team in Neel 'Tracer' Benarrivo. Last season he put up a 5.3 WAR in Phoenix while hitting .316 with 32 HR and 110 RBI. At only 32 years old the guy can still play and deserves a shot somewhere.
2. For a team that the GM is constantly all over about scoring runs, the California Kodiaks now have a run differential of +50, highest in the league. When you look a little closer though maybe the GM isn't that much off his rocker. For runs scored they sit at 142, which is in the bottom half of the league. For runs allowed though they sit at 92, the only team under 100 and 16 better than the Dinos in second place. In the Import they are first in opponents ERA, bullpen ERA, runs allowed, hits allowed, home runs allowed, and BABIP. Throw in the fact that they are first in zone rating at +19.46 and they really put the pitching and defense into P&D.
3. Robert 'Stretch' Jessee now has 13 HR this season, and is on pace for a ridiculous 66. He's two away from tying Johnny Swope at 593 career home runs, and now only 21 short of tying Jamie O'Hearn for the all-time record. At 36 years old, playing DH, and sitting in the four spot against righties it looks more and more like history will be made in 2050. O'Hearn passed up Dani Alvarez in 2031 while with Denver at the age of 37. Let's flashback to the 2031 DK - Week 14...
"July 9th, 2031 is a date that will live in BLB history. In the 7th inning of the Denver BC at Los Angeles Dino's game Jamie O'Hearn came up to bat with a runner on first and history waiting in the wings. On a 2-1 pitch by Wes Perry he turned on it and sent it 352 feet and over the wall. As fans scrambled for the ball, O'Hearn ran around the bases as TV networks around the nation zoomed in on him and the fans stood on their feet and cheered. The home run record by Dani Alvarez that had stood for almost 30 years was no more. With 573 home runs Jamie O'Hearn is now the most prolific home run hitter in the history of the BLB."
4. The Cyclones don't steal much, but when they do they are pretty good at it. How good you ask? Well in just 19 attempts this season they have stolen 18 bases for a 94.7% success rate. On the other side of the pillow Wilmington also has 18 stolen bases, but in 32 attempts. Their 56.3% success rate is lowest in the league.
5. What's on tap? Well this week we are back to interleague with a juicy match-up that features California traveling across the county to Hartford. Both teams lead their divisions while sitting at 21-11 on the season. As we mentioned California is deadly on the mound, and in the field, but Hartford is no slouch either. They are second in the Domestic in ERA, first in HR allowed, and third in runs allowed. Offensively they are fourth in runs scored, fourth in HR, and third in extra base hits. Streak wise the Exports, Rum Runners, and Blues have lost five in a row, Cayden Wittmeyer (Mai) has won 10 straight games, and Hayden 'Deuce' Cooper (Mai) is on a 20 game hitting streak.
