Toronto puts up the 6-0 week as they got the brooms out against Dallas and Pittsburgh and now have the second best record in the league. In one of those wins against Dallas they scored six runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie it, before Amonte Raper walked it off with a solo shot in the 10th. The only team better so far is Hartford, who at 15-5 assumed the #1 spot in the Power Rankings after going 5-2. They had a lot of company though this week as Baltimore, Pawtucket, Windy City, Santo Domingo and Maine all went 5-2 as well. That's a lot of winning. When there is winning there is losing though, as poor Syracuse went 0-7 and Pittsburgh went 1-5.

Performance of the Week
RF Jerome Bergthold - The 24 year old was a 3rd round pick by the Bats back in 2043 and is making his BLB debut this season. So far things appear to be working out, especially after his April 22nd performance against Seattle. He tallied up four hits, four RBI, and scored three times in a 14-8 victory over the Pilots. He's now hitting .276/.328/.500 with 3 HR and 10 RBI on the season.
Prospect of the Week
P Marlon Jaynes - The senior was just selected to the NCAA All-Star game, the second while in college, and is wrapping up a fine career with the Bears. Over the course of starting all four years he's 14-7 with a 2.69 ERA and 195 ERA+. He isn't the flashiest pitcher, nor the smartest, but the 6'4 hurler from Manhatten Beach could be a first round pick.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Not only does Hartford have the best record in the league, but they have the top system in the BLB! With 180 prospect points they beat out Santo Domingo and New Orleans by seven and eight respectively. They have four top 50 prospects, including #2 overall in Jamel 'Cheese' Thomas, the first overall pick of last years draft. The 18 year old is still in the Rookie League though where he's currently coming out of the pen. Talk about having an ace in the hole.
2. Syracuse has lost 10 in a row and is eerily looking like 2037-2038 Syracuse that won 70 games. Seventy games doesn't sound bad until you realize that was combined over two seasons. The Snappers are currently 3-17 and it doesn't look like it will get much better. Their starters ERA is 8.38, while as a team they are hitting .217, both needless to say are last in the league. They don't have a lot of assets to sell, and their minor league systems aren't exactly stocked. Sadly for fans it might be a few years before they turn the train around. They do have a solid history of rebuilding though, and did go to the playoffs seven times from 2040 to 2047, so alas not all is lost. There will always be hope.
3. Rory Elia announced this past week that 2050 is it for him, and he will be retiring at the end of the season. He's only 36, but when you consider he's been in the BLB since he was 20 years old, that is quite a career. Throw in the fact that he's a 2x Stout Slugger, 4x DWI winner, 6x Designated Driver, and been to 10 All-Star games, and he's had the career even All-Stars dream of. Without a doubt he will be a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee as he rides off into the sunset. Did we also mentioned he earned over $400,000,000 in his career...the most in the Brewers League Baseball history.
4. Pittsburgh has one thing going for them this season, their catchers and their arms. The Millers catchers have thrown out 75% of opposing base runners. On the other side of life Baltimore has only thrown out 9% of runners attempting to steal on them. What's all this mean...well since we've only played 20 or so games not a whole lot.
5. What's on tap? We great some great division series this week as Los Angeles travels to Windy City today, then Pawtucket travels to Hartford to close out the week. Hartford and Windy City are first in their respective divisions, while Los Angeles and Pawtucket are second. The Dinos though only trail by a half game, while the Patriots are down by two games. Streak wise Toronto has won seven in a row, Syracuse has lost 10 in a row, Cayden Wittmeyer picked up his first win of the season and his 7th straight, while Chase Cole has now lost nine in a row.
