Batavia was the star of the week with a 6-1 record that puts them at 21-24...and second place in the Stout. With the Bats having the only winning record in the division, the Red Jackets are now only four games behind them. Meanwhile in the Ale the Millers are 22-23, having a better winning percentage that Batavia, but sit all alone in last place! Other good weeks were had by Montreal, Windy City, and Maine who all went 5-2. Other not so good weeks were had by Hartford, who went 1-6, and New York who went 2-5.

Performance of the Week
P Johnathon 'El' Dorado - On May 23rd against Carolina he turned in the #3 performance of the season with an 8.2 inning, three hit, no run, 12 K performance in a...wait for it...17-0 victory. For some reason he was pulled with two outs and nobody on to let Riley Cole come in and strike out Zander Howard, but a win is a win. On the season 'El' is now 2-3 with a 4.10 ERA and 99 ERA+.
Prospect of the Week
RF Dwight Bell - After last years injury where Bell tore his rotator cuff while PITCHING in a game, his recovery back to a top prospect in the league has gone well. He's now ranked 17th overall and is hitting .265/.341/.469 with 3 HR and 14 RBI in 29 games.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. We got back to fight night in the BLB as two bench clearing brawls marred the league this week. First Carolina and Baltimore squared off as Bulldogs pitcher Drake DePuy got six games after intentionally hitting Tobs first basemen Zander Howard. The second was a few days later when Syracuse pitcher Vin 'Skeeter' Vatuiu beaned Voodoo shortstop Damian Goranson. In a disastrous inning for the Snappers where New Orleans scored eight runs, 'Skeeter' got called in to try and stop the bleeding. Instead he immediately gave up a two-run home run, then decided to throw at Goranson the very next pitch. After the game the office of the commissioner notified bother players they would be getting the next five games off without pay.
2. Aubrey 'Gypsy' Albano is nothing less than a hitting machine. The 28 year old put together a 30 game hitting streak last season, and this year was up to 27 already in only 42 total games. Sadly his streak was broken on May 20th against Dallas when he went 0-3 with a walk. He was going to be on deck to bat again, but Patriots catcher Jaumar Maldonado tried to go from 1st to 3rd on a single and got gunned down by Dallas outfielder Jesse Stevens to end the game. Albano is currently hitting .361/.376/.475 with a 127 OPS+.
3. We had our first cycle of the season as Dinos center fielder Brian Wallace went cycling during their 17-0 beat down of Carolina. Wallace hit a solo-shot off Lawson in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. Last seasons Designated Driver at center, and don't forget BLB champion, is hitting .335/.382/.494 with a 133 OPS+. Exactly what the captain of the team should be doing.
4. The Drillers were one game away from the Brewmasters Cup last season but that seems like a distant memory after last week. Dallas sent starting pitchers Nathan Thomson and Dawson Lamb to New Orleans and Pawtucket respectively. Combined they were 9-4 for the Drillers, and it was quite a shocking move for the fans as Lamb is 30 and Thomson is only 27. Is this a rebuild, or a reload? Only time will tell.
5. What's on tap? This week we have some match-ups we haven't seen yet this year. In the Domestic we have Montreal traveling to New Orleans, and in the Import we have California traveling down the road to Los Angeles. Both series feature the 1 vs 2 in their respective divisions. Streak wise the Canadians have won four in a row, while Hartford has lost five in a row. Individual player streaks have Pawtucket's Darius Brown with the longest active hitting streak in the league at 17 games, Toronto's Joseph Dolata hitting a home run in four straight games, and Denver's Treshawn Cooks with six straight wins.
