The Canadians are back baby as they go 6-0, have won nine straight, and shoot to the top of the Lager. After not having a winning record since 2039 is this the year Toronto is back in the playoffs? We certainly think so as the DK has them taking the division. Usually you can't do much better than 6-0, but don't tell that to Baltimore. The Bulldogs pulled off the rare unicorn of a 7-0 week with sweeps of New York and California. We can only imagine the anger emanating from the GM's office in Cali, and the smiles coming out of Baltimore. On the other side of life are those mentioned Kodiaks went 0-7, have lost eight straight, and find themselves in the Bock cellar. There is plenty of time to turn things around though, and we have faith that they will.

Performance of the Week
LF Louie Dano Dasmarinas - LDD is on his third Ale team to play for and seems to be loving life in Maine. This past week on April 21st he beat up on Syracuse to the tune of five hits, six RBI's, and 1 home run in a 13-5 Guides victory. On the season the 7x Ale Star and 2x Stout Slugger is hitting .329/.393/.579 with 4 HR's, 12 RBI's, and a 1.0 WAR.
Prospect of the Week
P Kris Elliott - It's coming up all Toronto this week as Elliott looks to be a future ace. The 21 year old has started three games this season and is 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and has struck out 35 batters. Maybe it's time to move to Single A? Signed by Pawtucket out of the British Virgin Islands he was traded to Toronto in the Will Harper deal back in 2043.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Congrats to Richie 'Powder' van Luik who recorded his 2000th hit this past week. The 32 year old has started out the season hitting .167, but the lifetime .334 hitter started out slow last season as well. He does already have six stolen bases though, and is on pace for 49, and that number should only increase when he finds his stroke. The all-time leader in stolen bases is now up to 795, 118 more than Jerry Daly who's in second place. Daly might get passed this season by Erwijn 'Moriarity' de Jong, but by the time 'Powder' is done it won't really matter. It might just be unbreakable at that point.
2. Should we just give the Stout Slugger to Colby 'Mirror' Hullinger now...or wait until next month? The 30 year old is already a 5x All-Star, and 3x Stout Slugger winner, and he's still in the prime of his career. This season he's hitting .361/.425/.819 with 10 HR's and 26 RBI's...in 19 games. He's also swiped seven bases and is on pace for an 81 HR/57 SB, 14.7 WAR season. We're fairly certain he won't reach those marks but what a stud. New Orleans is currently 10-10, and we've heard rumors they might shop him down the road, but can you even trade a guy like that? Fair market value might just be more than anyone could possibly pay.
3. Pawtucket knows how to draft...and then trade those guys away. They picked up Sylvester Morwood in the 10th round of the 2041 draft, pick 223 overall, but traded him to Baltimore in 2047. He ended up playing 43 games last year for the Bulldogs where he hit .336/.420/.712 with 12 HR's, and 28 RBI's. People weren't too sure if the 24 year old was going to be a flash in the pan though. He did have power in high school where he hit 42 home runs over three season, but his contact was always iffy. Well he seems to have found that contact as he's hitting .348/.380/.803 with 10 HR's and 24 RBI's in only 16 games this season. Instead of a flash in the pan this kid could be dynamite.
4. There was celebrating around the league a few months ago after Batavia wasn't at the top of the annual report of Top Systems in the league. The Dinos had surpassed them with the help of the top prospect in the league, Dwan Tamarovsky. Alas it didn't last long as the Red Jackets are back in first once again. With Jerry 'Snake Hips' Coleman, Payton Durst, Gage Hay, Joel Sawyer, and Elgin Kelly all top 30 prospects Batavia has a chance to win now...and down the road...for a long time.
5. What's on tap? How about a few winning streaks (and one losing streak). Toronto has won nine in a row, but has to travel to Montreal who went 6-1 last week. Meanwhile Baltimore is up to seven in a row, but plays three against a revamped Carolina team and then three against Phoenix. On the losing side the Kodiaks get Denver and Carolina both on the road. Will they continue to circle the drain or is it revenge time? On the individual side Sayon 'The Brick' Castillo has a 13 game hitting streak going for Indy, while Reid Cole for Seattle has homered in three straight games.
