To kick off the post All-Star break we have a new #1. The New Orleans Voodoo went 2-1 on the week to jump California and push the Kodiaks into a tailspin. Even though they have the best record in the league, Kodiak fans are on the Twitter lookout for potential firesale trade blocks. The California GM expects nothing less than perfection, and that is one of the reasons that since 2036 they only trail Washington by one win for the most wins in the league. Back to last week though. The winner once again was the Seattle Pilots who went 3-0, ran their win streak to 10, and their playoff odds to 48%. The other winner of the week was the Domestic who won both the All-Star game and the Future Stars game.

Performance of the Week
SS Elias Shelton - Nobody broke into the Top Performances of the Season this week, but Shelton was responsible for the only run in the All-Star game. In the top of the 8th with two outs, Shelton took Satchel 'Crayon' Ramirezdeep on a 1-1 count to put the Domestic up 1-0, which ended up as the final score. On the season Shelton is hitting .323 with 6 HR's and 28 RBI's while posting a 2.9 WAR. He's a free agent to be, and his current demands are rumored to be over $25m a year. Knowing the Pittsburgh front office he might as well start packing his bags now.
Prospect of the Week
LF Henry Keane - The 22 year old was the first pick of the 2nd round by Dallas in 2042, but traded to Windy City for Reid Cole in 2045. He's now the 61st overall prospect in the league, and hitting .326/.428/.539 with 12 HR's and 42 RBI's in A ball. He's slow and not very good in the field, but scouts and coaches think his bat could be All-Star type special.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Six All-Star games (BLB, Futures, AAA, AA, A, RL) between the Domestic and the Import this season, and the Domestic went 6-0. In those six games the DL outscored the IL 30-6. What does this mean for the future of the Brewmasters Cup winners...nothing at all...but it's an interesting tidbit.
2. If Colby 'Mirror' Hullinger was in the Import he'd be a front-runner for the Triple Crown. He's hitting .342 with 30 HR's and 80 RBI's, and is on pace for a 50/60 season. He leads the entire league in home runs and runs driven in, but unfortunately for him he's behind Neel 'Tracer' Benarrivo (IL), Al Flanagan (DL), Kade Priddy (DL), Dane Jennings (DL), Collin 'Reach' Makuch (DL) and Daryl Walken (DL). That's a lot of averages to pass if if 'Mirror' wants to capture the 5th hitting Triple Crown in league history.
3. Wilmington had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week. First they lost two of three to Hartford, who was on a 15 game losing streak. Then they found out pitcher Treshawn Cooks, who left the game during one of those loses, tore his triceps and will be out two to three months. On the season he was 6-8 with a 4.34 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 2.0 WAR. Not the best numbers but he's a solid pitcher who won 16 games last season and 17 the year before.
4. Christian Vines is on pace to go 21-5 with a 2.53 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 272 K's. That would be a top 40 finish all-time for K's, but those are pedestrian numbers for Mr. Vines. He holds three of the top five single season strikeout spots, including 1st and 2nd. His record of 342 last season might not be touched for a very long time. It shows you how dominant this guy was before he got the 'yips' to still be this good.
5. What's on tap? In the Domestic we get to watch Wilmington at New Orleans, and Syracuse at Pawtucket. The question for the Snappers and Clowns seems to be "are they for real?'' Wilmington is almost a lock for the playoffs, while Syracuse sits at around 50%, but playing the two best teams in the Domestic will show some things. In the Import we get Phoenix at LAD, and Batavia at Washington. The Roadrunners and the Dinos are neck and neck in the Bock for second and this is the last series of the season between them. Phoenix holds a 7-2 advantage so far and would like to see that pushed to double digit wins. Meanwhile Washington has a 10 game lead on the Red Jackets and would like nothing more than to boot them further down the standings. After losing the division to them last season though the Bats used that fuel to win the Brewmasters. Maybe they should let Batavia climb back into the picture?
