California continues to roll as they put up another 5-2 week and hold onto the top spot in the Power Rankings. The winner of the week though was the Denver 'BC' Bulls who went 6-1. With a four game sweep of Philly, and taking two of three from Windy City, the Bulls are now only a game under .500 and a half game out of the wildcard. Montreal came in second by going 5-1, while Dallas, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Washington joined the Kodiaks with 5-2 weeks of their own. Meanwhile Philly went 0-7, Hartford went 0-6, and Seattle went 1-6. The poor Whalers have now lost 20 straight games and are 19-51 on the season.

Performance of the Week
C Brock Leonard - It's not often a guy hitting .162 turns in a Top Performance but Leonard did just that on June 18th against Wilmington. In four at bats he had three hits, two home runs, seven RBI's and scored twice in an 8-2 Maine victory. The 31 year old was a fourth round pick in 2034 by Philly and played for the Freedom for five seasons before coming over to Maine this offseason as a free agent.
Prospect of the Week
Dwan Tamarovsky - We have a new #1 as Dwan bumps Miller's starter Theodore Blume to the side and takes over the top spot in the Top Prospect report. Signed out of Lithuania by Philadelphia in 2042 he was traded to Los Angeles in the Tiernan 'Garbage' Parker deal in 2044. At only 21 years old he's still in A ball, where he is 3-5 with a 2.07 ERA in 13 starts this season. Coaches are constantly after him to keep working hard, but if he even gets close to his potential he could be a dominant ace in the BLB.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Jimmy Jeffs, Christopher Starr, and Colby Hullinger all joined the five hits in a single game club this past week. Jeffs was 5 for 6, while Starr and Hullinger were 5 for 5 each. The record for hits in a non extra inning game is six. It was last done in the Domestic by Montreal's Daryl Walken in 2044, and in the Import by Baltimore's Desmond Roman in 2038.
2. Tavin Kang has worked his way all the way up to #2 on the Top Players list published by OSA. The 25 year old was the 6th overall pick by Seattle in 2039 to mixed reviews. Well the reviews are in and the former GM appears to have been correct. The center fielder is a whiz in the field (+5 ZR), a beast behind the plate (.253/.359/.486 - 16 HR) and fleet of foot on the base paths (21 SB). He's on pace for a 6.3 WAR, the highest of his career, and someday will easily transition to left or right field when his best days in center are behind him.
3. Syracuse is a surprising 40-32 after starting out the season 8-14 in April. It's also a little surprising because they have a run differential of -33, tied for 6th worst in the league. They have been en fuego this month though as they are 16-5 with a RD of +24. New Orleans and California lead the league with an RD of +93, followed by Dallas at +71 and LAD at +62.
4. It was quite a week for the Toronto organization as seven players made their BLB debut: RF Bryant Keough, 3B Abel 'Stumpy' Valley, LF Amonte Raper, 1B Peyton Schranz, P Wilber Prickett, P Joshua Businelle, and P Kyle Taylor. Raper and Keough would have been two of our favorite for New Brew this season if they started the year in Toronto, while Businelle looks like a true #1 starting pitcher. They might all struggle for the time being, but the future is filled with excitement. Throw in 9x All-Star Robert 'Stretch' Jessee and 2048 could be the first season Toronto is playoff bound since 2039.
5. What's on tap? The matchup of the week is in the Domestic as Dallas travels to New Orleans for three games. The Drillers have been hot, hot, hot this month with a 14-6 record and now only trail New Orleans by four games in the Lager. They have the second best starting pitching ERA in the league, but their bullpen is 10th. It should be fun to watch them against a Voodoo team that is first in hits, runs, and home runs. In the Import we have Washington at New York. It seems like a long time ago the Knights were 7-0...and after going 6-16 in June I'm sure they miss those days as well. At 34-38 they are only two out of the Import wildcard, but it would be nice for their fans to put a stop to the slide this week.
