One angry 'Tweet Storm' by the Kodiaks GM and the players responded, as they take back over the top spot in the PR with a 6-1 week. They had some company though as Syracuse went 6-1, and New Orleans and Dallas went 5-1. The winner winner, chicken dinner award though goes to Pawtucket who went 6-0 with sweeps of Santo Domingo and Wilmington. The Patriots now lead the Ale by half a game as the Clowns went 1-5 and fell out of the division lead. To join them in their week of sorrow was Windy City (1-5) and Maine and SDR who went 0-6. It appeared to be the straw that broke the camels back in Santo Domingo, but we'll get to that later.

Performance of the Week
P Martin Hoffman - The 25 year old turned in the 7th best pitching performance of the season on June 1st against Maine. In eight innings he allowed three hits, no runs, struck out 10 and walked none in an 8-0 victory over the Guides. The former undrafted closer is now a full time starter who's 9-0 with a 1.85 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 220 ERA+ in 11 starts this season.
Prospect of the Week
P Kris Elliott - Elliott is the second top prospect pitcher that Pawtucket sent Toronto, this one back in 2043 for 1B Will Harper. He's now 20, playing in A ball, and is 5-4 with a 2.88 ERA in nine starts. He can hit 100 on the gun, can go all nine innings, and has the potential to throw three very good pitches. Between Elliott, Trevon Pearson, Joshua Businelle, Amonte Raper, and Bryant Keough this Toronto team is going to be really good, really fast. There's a lot of anger amongst them for being held back, but we assume the Canadians have a plan.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. "Will the last person off the island please turn off the lights?" This was a sign recently seen at a Santo Domingo game after the GM stated he was "blowing it up" as the Rum Runners lost their eighth straight game. So far we're hearing that Galen Rose, Christian Carroll, Jaden Feldmann, Khadeen Kianyandaarwa, Ben Clewley, and Nicholas Hubscher are on the move. No one, and we repeat, no one, blows it up better than their GM. On the other hand no one builds it back up faster either.
2. The month of May belonged to the Washington Bats who went 21-9 and outscored their opponents 143-93. New Orleans was second at 19-10, while California came in at 18-11. Some league leaders: Batavia and Seattle hit 44 home runs, Seattle scored 144 runs and stole 55 bases, New Orleans hit .297, opponents hit .213 against California, Phoenix struck out 307 batters, and Pawtucket had a 2.95 ERA.
3. Dominique Graham was reported to be on the block but after Syracuse acquired half of Santo Domingo's team he'll probably stick around for a bit. He's been one of the hottest hitters in the league over the past few weeks, and he's a big reason why the Snappers are just one game below .500 after such a poor start. Over his last 19 games he's hitting .360/.417/.667 with 5 HR's and 17 RBI's and Syracuse is 13-6.
4. Between Hoffman and Colby 'Mirror' Hullinger the Voodoo are the team to beat right now in the Domestic, and maybe the league. Hullinger is hitting .348/.409/.682 with 18 HR's, 48 RBI's and 21 SB's. He's also posted 4.04 WAR and a +ZR at both second and third this season. What can't this man do? He also leads the league in WRC, WPA, WOBA, and WRAA. That's a lot of W's for 'Mirror' which translates to a lot of W's for the Voodoo.
5. What's on tap? In the Import we'll be watching Baltimore at Washington. The Bulldogs have rebounded from last season and are 28-24 and tied for second in the Stout behind Washington. They have suffered some starting pitching issues but the addition of Hubscher from SDR should more than help. In the Domestic we have Montreal at Dallas. The Lager is brutal. With Toronto on the climb next year (or sooner), only the selling off by Santo Domingo will keep this division from having six .500 or better teams. So when Montreal is 28-24 don't take that lightly. Streak wise Pawtucket has won six in a row, while SDR has lost its last eight and Maine has dropped six straight. Meanwhile the Road Runners have a pair of hitting streaks as Neel 'Tracer' Benarrivo and Chadd Chua have hit in 15 and 14 straight games respectively.
