LAD goes over to the Domestic and beats up on Montreal and Indy to go 6-0 on the week. The Dinos are now 9-4 and one and a half back from California in the Bock. Other good weeks were had by those mentioned Kodiaks, Pittsburgh, and Batavia who all went 5-1, while New Orleans, Baltimore, and Phoenix all went 4-2. On the other side of life Philly and Montreal went 1-5 while eight teams went 2-4. With everyone playing six here were some team leaders: Batavia scored 40 runs, LAD allowed 11 runs, Batavia hit 14 HR's, Maine swiped 10 bases and Wilmington struck out 66 opposing batters.

Performance of the Week
P Cole Socia - The 2nd round pick from 2040 has exploded onto the scene this season with a 3-0 record and 1.17 ERA in three starts. On April 20th against Indy he tossed a six-hit shutout with 10 K's and no walks as the Dinos won 5-0. He throws a slider, changeup, and cutter, can reach the mid-90's on the gun, and has the stamina to start and finish games. The 26 year old is in his fourth BLB season and has never been to the All-Star game, something that could change this year.
Prospect of the Week
LF Max Klein - Scouts think that Klein could hit 35+ HR's if he played in the BLB this season, but for now the 21 year old will play for the Racers AAA team the Fort Wayne Herons. Picked second overall in 2045 he's moved from 99th to 70th on the Top Prospect list in the past year while going from A to AAA. He's an adequate fielder in left but his true calling is power slugger and he will be a good one.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Two weeks in and lets just give the Domestic Stout Slugger to Colby Hullinger. The 4x All-Star and 2x Stout Slugger is hitting .396 with 9 HR's, 20 RBI's, and 5 stolen bases in 13 games. Last season he hit .257 with 32 HR's, 108 RBI's, and a 4.3 WAR...which was a down season for him. He's on pace for a 22.4 WAR and as he goes so do the Voodoo, who are currently 10-3 and lead the Lager.
2. The power surge in the BLB continues as Landon Tolleson of the Dinos hit three home runs this week in a single game. Louie Dano Dasmarinas did it two weeks ago and at this pace we might beat last seasons total of nine 3-HR games. Tolleson leads LAD with four home runs and the Dinos lead the BLB with a +31 run differential after only two weeks.
3. Erick Timmons has homered for the Red Jackets in four straight games, and leads Batavia with six on the season. The second round pick from 2039 looks like he could be better than the slew of early first round picks Batavia had over the past few years. Currently in only his third season, Timmons saw his HR total jump from 10 his rookie year to 28 last season, and he might reach that number by the All-Star break this year.
4. Christian Vines is still having control issues but he's only slightly less dominant. In three starts he's 1-1 with a 2.87 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and 147 ERA+. His 14.4 K/9 is tops in the league by almost two strikeouts and he can still hit almost 100 mph with his fastball. He's won four Pale Ale's in a row, so maybe the soon to be 29 year old just went from superhuman to reallygoodhuman.
5. What's on tap? How about LAD and their eight game winning streak hosting the first place Knights? We also get Wilmington at New Orleans, and Dallas at Toronto. The Canadians are 6-7 this year but fans are more excited for their AAA team, the Ottawa Beavers. Amonte Raper is 22 and would be our pick for New Brew if he was in the BLB, but for now him and future star Bryant Keough will stay in AAA. The future looks bright for Toronto.
