The Kodiaks are back on top with a 4-2 week? What is this...West Coast bias? In all honesty they have the second best record in the league and a 9.5 game lead in the Bock, so we'll accept it for now. The best of the week though belonged to Wilmington and New Orleans who each went 5-1. The Clowns are 12 games over .500 and only trail the Patriots by four games while the defending champion Voodoo are back to even at 50-50. On the other side of life New York went 1-6, while Philly, Montreal, Carolina, Hartford, and Toronto all went 1-5.

Performance of the Week
RF Elias Steves - The 28 year old former 2nd round pick smashed three home runs in a single game, for the second time this season. This time it was on July 23rd against New York when he drove in five, scored three times, and walked once in the 10-0 Bats victory. The 3x All-Star is hitting .300/.347/.575 with 24 HR's and 50 RBI's while playing 82 games in right field.
Prospect of the Week
P Kaleb 'Berserker' Gergely - The 5th round pick from 2042 by Maine has turned into the 62nd overall prospect in the league. After being released by Maine last season he was picked up by Seattle then traded to Toronto for Layne 'Pinto' Marmol. This season in A ball the 21 year old is 3-0 with a 1.41 ERA and 0.81 WHIP. The reason he was released was no secret though. 'Beserker' was a huge disruptive influence and Maine management was tired of his antics. Only time will tell if he's able to turn things around.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. It appears that Derek Bell is on the move. The Roadrunners for months have been talking about trading arguably the second best pitcher in the game behind Vines, and they finally pulled the trigger. Details are sketchy but it appears Bell will be taking Interstate 10 east towards the big city of Dallas, Texas while a busload of prospects and draft picks will be heading west.
2. We talked last week about the Dinos giving Brian Wallace a fat extension and what did he do to reward them, well he hit .533/.548/.800 with 1 HR and 8 RBI's and won the Import Player of the Week! The Dinos are now 51-50 and in second place in the Bock. Their playoff odds are at 74.5% and they have a chance to go to the playoffs in back to back years, the first time for them since 2031-32. Go Dinos Go.
3. If you thought there was parity last season then you must be shocked about this year. We're two days away from August and there are eight teams in the Domestic that are .500 or better. Meanwhile in the Import only 12 games separate the #1 wildcard team (Washington) with the last place team (Baltimore). Currently 19 of the 24 teams show up in the playoff odds report as having a chance. The trade deadline could be a wild ride.
4. In the 'year of the hitting streak' we now have Kodiaks star James 'Wacky' Vandehey at 24 games while the Snappers slugger Dominique Graham just reached 20 games. If anyone needed to get hot it was Graham who was hitting .255 when the streak started. The 5x All-Star is now hitting .271 with 19 HR's and 59 RBI's but is on pace for only a 2.1 WAR, which isn't even half of his previous season low of 4.4 back in 2042. If he turns it on now the Snappers are all but certain of getting back to the postseason.
5. Bulls closer Garret Clausnitzer got his 450th career save on July 25th against Phoenix in a 5-2 Denver win. Picked in the 4th round of the 2027 draft by the Denver BC he was traded to Indianapolis in 2033 where he helped the Racers win the BLB championship in 2034. Since then he's played for Seattle and Carolina before being picked up cheap by Denver at the start of this season. He's had quite the year and many thought he was snubbed by not being chosen for this years All-Star game, which would have been his first ever selection. Instead he's 14th all-time in saves and if he plays this way next year he could finish top ten by the time he hangs it up.
