    Syracuse and Montreal go 6-1 as the Snappers are now three games above .500 and the Exports have built a 4.5 game lead in Lager. Syracuse allowed a league low 13 runs over the seven games while scoring 36, while Montreal allowed 34 runs but scored a league high 49. Other good weeks belonged to Santo Domingo, Pawtucket, Washington, Phoenix and Wilmington who all went 5-2. On the other side of the chart Hartford and Dallas went 1-6, while New Orleans, LAD, and Maine went 2-5.

    Performance of the Week

    P Christian Vines - He actually had two of the Top 25 pitching performances of the year this week, with the 6th overall one coming on May 21st against Hartford. Over 8 innings he allowed two hits, no runs, walked three and stuck out 14 during a 6-0 victory. The other one came on May 26th against Indy when he went 8.2 innings, allowed four hits, no runs, walked one and struck out 12. He's now 5-1 with a 0.79 ERA in 10 starts and has propelled Syracuse back above .500.

    Prospect of the Week

    P Sean McKelvey - The junior went 5-2 with a 1.83 ERA this season as USC had the best record in the NCAA and is now one win away from winning the College World Series. In the first game of the CWS against Arizona he picked up the win as the Trojans dominated the Wildcats 17-2. He was a 2043 HS All-Star, and 2044 and 2046 NCAA All-Star.

    This four and a half hour slugfest featured 17 runs, 36 hits, and only four home runs as the home team Pilots won it on a walk-off triple in the 11th by Charlie Lang that allowed Louie Dano Dasmarinas to easily stroll home. Seattle started out by giving up a run after a leadoff triple by Pearce 'Nimrod' Franck, but got hot and scored four runs over the next two innings which was highlighted by a Melchior Galasso two run home run. Carolina had a huge 5th after Bradley Beehn beaned two straight batters to load the bases and Zeus Alder brought two home with a double. A few batters later a Loren Martyn single scored two more and the Tobs had a 5-4 lead. They added another the next inning to push the lead to 6-4 but Seattle scored two in the 7th off of a Marco Taylor two run home run to tie it up. In the top of the 8th Alder once again came up big with a two run shot and Carolina retook the lead. Seattle answered right back in the bottom of the inning though when Richie 'Powder' van Luik hit a two run double. Neither team could score in the 9th or 10th until Lang finally ended in the 11th much to the delight of the home fans.

    Five Things We Think We Think

    1. It's been a good month for Wilmington (18-8), Pawtucket (17-7) and Syracuse (15-10) as they have risen to the top of the Ale. Throw in Maine (13-12) and Hartford (12-13) and the Ale has the best record since May 1st. Then throw in Pittsburgh (9-16) and the Millers just screw everything up. No one is hoping June gets here faster than the fans in Pittsburgh.

    2. We have two hitting streaks currently going as Pilots Richie 'Powder' van Luik is up to 18 games and Dinos Brian Wallace is at 17 games. 'Powder' has gone from .250 to .301 while Wallace has gone from .264 to .336 during their streaks. Wallace is looking to go to his second straight All-Star game while Luik is trying to get back after last going in 2044. Luik has also swiped eight bases during his run and is now only nine away from tying the all-time record.

    3. Congrats to Pat 'Melody' Nunes who hit his 400th career home run this week and Dave Nichols who recorded his 2000th career hit. The 37 year old Nunes was the 2nd overall pick of the 2026 draft, is a 5x All-Star, and helped Washington win the Brewmasters in 2039. He's also considered one of the 'bad boys' of the league and has never been popular in the clubhouse. Nichols meanwhile is 35 years old and was the 23rd overall pick of the 2028 draft. He's one of the best defensive catchers to ever play the game and is a 5x DWI winner and 6x All-Star.

    4. As mentioned earlier USC has a 1-0 lead on Arizona in the CWS after pounding the Wildcats 17-2 in game one. In the CCBL the postseason is over though as the Wareham Gatemen took down Brewster two games to none to win their first title since 2039 and ninth overall. The Gatemen went 30-19 on the season and were led by outfielder Hayden Riffle who hit .348 with 20 HR's and freshman starter Owen 'Mule' Ward who went 5-3 with a 2.47 ERA.

    5. Are the Clowns for real? Last year they won 74 games and the year before 73. Now they are tied for the second most wins in the league. This week though should be quite the test as they play three at Pawtucket then three at Montreal. Nothing like six games on the road against the division leaders. In the Import we get the special match-up of first place Washington at first place California. To say the Bats have the Kodiaks number in the playoffs would be an understatement as they have gone 7-0 and swept California out of the playoffs the last two seasons. Time to see if Cali can gain some confidence back in their first meeting this season.

        Christian Vines is unbelievable!! I have only been around since 2036, is this the most dominant pitching of all time? Especially considering he started this at such a young age.
