How about those Bats. They went 7-0 with sweeps of Batavia and Denver, took the Stout lead back, and come in first in the Power Rankings. Other big weeks were had by Wilmington and California who went 6-1 while Seattle and Pittsburgh went 5-2. Those Bulls had a rough week at 0-7 while Carolina, Hartford, Batavia, and Toronto all went 2-5. Some team leaders for the week: Pittsburgh hit .328, California posted an ERA of 1.57, Washington slugged 14 home runs, and Philly K'd 74 batters.

Performance of the Week
SS Dusty Schmidl - The ageless one is still going strong at 39 years old and turned in the 5th best performance of the season on April 29th against Toronto. In five at bats he tallied four hits, one home run, drove in four and scored three times in a 16-7 victory. Not bad for the 5x All-Star, 3x DD, 1x DWI, and 2036 BLB champion.
Prospect of the Week
DH Amric Robinson - Taken with the 22nd pick of the 2043 draft the now 20 year old has moved up to the 33rd ranked prospect in the league. He can't run, he can't play a lick of defense, but he has the potential to be a game changing slugger. He's crushing the ball in 11 single A games this year and could be moving up to AA or even AAA shortly.

Five Things We Think We Think
1.Who does Derek Bell think he is...Christian Vines? In four starts this season the 31 year old is 3-0 with a 1.03 ERA and 44 K's. Is it possible to be a 3x Pale Ale winner and go to five All-Star games and be underrated?
2. Batavia currently checks in with 353 prospect points, almost 200 points more than second place Toronto. To put it in perspective though the Red Jackets have more points than the 12th through 24th teams...combined.
3. Richie 'Powder' van Luik now leads the league with 10 stolen bases and is on pace for 85 on the season. At 650 career swipes he's now only 18 away from setting the all-time record. Another guy that should break the record as well is 34 year old Erwijn 'Moriarity' de Jong for the Bats. He currently has 615 career stolen bases but hasn't stolen a base yet this season. He stole 51 in 2044 and 41 last season so he needs to get on his horse again.
4. Is David 'Skeeter' McCullough the new JD 'Hurricane' Rice for the Bulldogs? McCullough currently leads the Bulldogs with six home runs and in the four game series against Seattle this week hit one out in three of the games and two in the other. Rice did that back in 2037 when he hit one out in six straight games, so McCullough has a few games to go. 'Skeeter' is winning the battle of the sluggers though as 'Hurricane' is only hitting .242 with 2 HR's for the Knights.
5. We have a few good early season match-ups to look forward to this week. Both in the Domestic there is a battle of first place teams (Montreal at Pittsburgh) and a battle of second place teams (New Orleans at Pawtucket). With no one really setting themselves apart from the pack yet in either league lets see if we can get an idea of who the real contenders (and pretenders) are this season.
