Performance of the Week
2B Brian Pace - The 26 year old was a 4th round pick back in 2040 and just made his BLB debut this season. On April 25th against rival California he had three hits, two home runs, drove in five, and scored three times in a 9-5 Blues victory. Scouts don't think he will light the league on fire, but with games like this he might work his way into a full-time starter. Coaches also rave about his work ethic and humbleness which is just another feather in his hat.
Prospect of the Week
3B Jerry 'Snake Hips' Coleman - At only 17 years old the third basemen for the Saline HS Highlanders looks like a top five pick in this years draft. He is a three time HS All-Star with a lifetime average of .363/.457/.943 and just hit his 50th career home run. This season alone he's hitting .403 with 24 HR's and 59 RBI's while stealing 10 bases. He's slowly learning to play third but looks like he could play a variety of positions in the field. Speed, power, defense...he might actually be a top three pick.

Five Things We Think We Think
1. Congrats to Jimmy Brabec for his 300th home run and Tom Jensen for his 500th career save this week. Brabec, 34, was the 17th pick in the 2028 draft and turned into a 4x All-Star, 4x DWI winner, and 2040 champion with Batavia. Jensen meanwhile was the first pick of the second round in 2024 and is currently 41 years old. He is ranked 9th all-time on the career saves list, is a 6x All-Star, won the Last Call twice, and also won two championships...one with Montreal in 2027 and one with Windy City in 2041.
2. The Syracuse front office recently ordered more pens after a rash of contract extensions early in the season. First was Christian Vines for four years, then Dominique Graham for three years, Mason 'Ringo' Graham for three years, Tony Ramos for four years, and finally Nathan Ervin this past week for three years. Talk about keeping your core together for another run or two at a title.
3. Xzavier 'Blockhead' Medellin loves his new home in Indy after signing a 7 year/$124.5m contract this January. He was named POTW last week and was just named POTM today. For the month of April he hit .347/.424/.827 with 10 HR's and 18 RBI's. The 28 year old 2x All-Star currently leads the Domestic in home runs, OBS and WAR.
4. Where have you gone Logan Jacobi, New York turns its lonely eyes to you. Jacobi, who turned 32 this off-season, was signed by New York for $12.5m in free agency. In 10 season in California he went to two All-Star games, captured three DWI's, and won two Brewmaster Cups while racking up a 34.0 WAR. So far in 13 games this season he's hitting .070/.130/.116 with no home runs, no RBI's, and 13 K's.
5. The HS playoffs recently started, the NCAA/CCBL season ends this week, and all the BLB minor leagues are in full swing. In A ball this week Santo Domingo's Riley Easley threw a no-hitter, in AA Windy City's Destin Washington hit for the cycle, and in AAA Pawtucket's Davis Doster plated eight. With the BLB draft coming up baseball is back baby!
