The snazzy Snappers stay on top with a 5-2 week, have the leagues best record of 39-19, and now boast a 9.5 game lead in the Ale over Pawtucket and Maine. Not to be outdone though we had a perfect week as the Washington Bats went 6-0 with sweeps of Baltimore and Seattle. They have now surpassed Philly for the Stout lead by a half game. Santo Domingo wins the silver as they went 6-1 with a four game sweep of Wilmington, while Maine and California also went 5-2.

Performance of the Week
2B Jake Poole - The 28 year old journeyman is on his fifth BLB team but had a big day on June 5th against Baltimore. In five at bats he had four hits, three RBI's, and scored four times in a 12-0 drubbing of the Bulldogs.
Prospect of the Week
P DeVontae Buenteo - Martin Hoffman gets all the press for the Voodoo but the 23 year old Buenteo is currently #5 on the Top Prospects list. He came to New Orleans out of El Salvador in 2039 and is currently in AAA, where he is 5-4 with a 4.14 ERA, with 55 strikeouts to only 8 walks.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. We had our first cycle of the year as Denver's Jesse Gallagher went cycling on June 2nd against Baltimore. He had a single to open things up in the second inning, a two-run home run in the fourth, a triple in the fifth, and a double in the 7th. In the end though it was all for naught as Bulldogs centerfielder Desmond Roman hit a two-run walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth and Baltimore won 7-5.
2. Jae'Sean 'Flamethrower' Ismael has been the bright spot in a dark Phoenix season so far. Since being called up to the BLB he's gone 7-1 with a 2.11 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. He was just recently named the IL Rookie of the Month and combined with Derek Bell could form a dominant 1-2 in the Bock. If Cade Hogan comes back healthy next season it should be a rebound year for the Road Runners.
3. The DL playoff picture currently has Maine, Pawtucket, and Toronto in it. Maine last went in 2040, Toronto in 2039, and Pawtucket in 2033. In the IL the Dinos are in the wildcard spot, with them last going in 2039. It's early and a lot can and will change, but it's nice to see some new blood making a postseason push.
4. Dusty 'Shameless' Borchers is now 9-0 with a 2.51 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 10 starts. The 39 year old ageless one has twelve seasons of double digit wins and it looks like lucky thirteen is on the horizon. Don't forget about Barton Mejia though who is 6-3 with a 2.24 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. Those two have given the Blues a three game lead over Seattle in the "Brutal Bock".
5. We're back to interleague this week as we get a few must see TV match-ups. So grab your popcorn or better yet visit your local BLB park. First we have the first place Blues traveling to meet the first place Rum Runners for a three game series starting today. We also have the second place Pilots traveling to face off against the second place Exports. Then on June 9th two teams from those series meet, as Montreal travels to play Windy City.
Don't also forget that today at BLB ballparks around the country we will celebrate and honor the 100th year anniversary of the Normandy landings, better known as D-Day. As both American and Canadian troops participated in Operation Neptune, the entire league will hold a moment of silence for those men that gave the ultimate price on that day so long ago. There will also be free admission for any active or retired military personnel and their family.
