Seattle continues to roll with a 5-1 week including a sweep of the Red Jackets. The Millers were right behind them by going 5-2 while seven teams won four games. On the other side of life Batavia went 1-5 while four teams won only two games. The bell curve is strong this week.

Performance of the Week
P Christian Vines - On April 30th against Santo Domingo he went 7.2 innings, allowed no runs, one hit, and struck out 16 in a masterful performance. Unfortunately Tony Ramos gave up a ninth inning solo home run to tie the game 1-1, and then the Rum Runners won it...hold on...in the 19th inning!? In the end the game lasted almost six and a half hours and Vines effort was for naught.
Injury of the Week
P Garret Letterle - The runaway train known as the Pilots suffered a loss this week with Letterle injured his shoulder on April 28th against Batavia and will be out at least six weeks. On the season the 23 year old has appeared in 15 innings with a 1.80 ERA and 1.13 WHIP.
Prospect of the Week
P Joel Sawyer - The 20 year old from Moss Point, MS is in his second season with the Ducks and was just named to the NCAA All-Star team. On the season he's 4-1 with a 1.64 ERA, 0.64 ERA and 258 ERA+. Scouts love his work ethic and intelligence, and combining those with his 99 mph fastball doesn't hurt either.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Seattle is on a mission after last years playoff exit as they are 21-5 with a run differential of +60, with division mate Windy City coming in second with a RD of +45. The Pilots are 1st in runs scored, and 2nd in slugging, home runs, hits, and stolen bases. Then they are 1st in ERA, home runs allowed and walks. To add to it, outfielding slugger LDD recently woke up with a POTW award after belting .364 with 4 HR's in his last five games...and he's still only hitting .230 with 8 HR's on the season. If he keeps it going look out.
2. We didn't talk about it in the the performance of the week, but Vines striking out 16 means that the last three times it has been accomplished in the BLB...was all by Vines. Twice last season against Denver and Maine, and now this year against SDR.
3. Piggybacking off #2, who leads the BLB in 15+ K games?
Spoiler
That's pretty good company.
4. Jinxbot on Pittsburgh Millers closer Sean Andrews. Eleven games, 11.2 innings pitched, 11 saves, 0 runs allowed.
5. In the Barton Mejia watch he won again and is now 4-0 with a 1.38 ERA. Him, Sheng Jong of SDR, and Rayburn Michel of Pawtucket have now all won nine games in a row without a loss. Meanwhile poor Taelin Leanos of Hartford has lost 11 in a row. The worst part is he is the captain, clubhouse rumors are that he is furious at the team, and now on top of it he strained his triceps on April 27th. When it rains it pours.
