Seattle stays on top with a big 6-1 week as Philly comes racing up the boards to take the #2 spot. The Freedom went 5-2, lead the Stout by 2.5 games and are on pace to have their most wins since 2031. Other big weeks were Baltimore who went 6-1, Dallas who went 5-1, and Washington and Toronto who went 5-2. Some team leaders for the week: SDR crushed 17 home runs and scored 47 runs, Seattle allowed only 15 runs, Maine swiped 15 bases, and Washington held opponents to a .219 average.

Performance of the Week
LF Davis Abbott - Nobody broke into the Top Performances this past week so we picked Abbott after his August 13th performance against Maine. He tallied two hits (both home runs) and drove in eight as the Clowns beat down Maine 13-7. On the season the 27 year old is hitting .333/.404/.544 with 13 HR's and 49 RBI's. Too bad after winning the New Brew in 2039 he refuses to update his program photo.
Injury of the Week
P Yuri 'Punk' Baldwin - A brutal loss for Phoenix as the 29 year old left the August 16th game against Baltimore with shoulder pain and was later diagnosed with a torn labrum. Not only is he out the remainder of this year, but management doesn't believe he'll be back until summer of 2043. On the year he was 12-3 with a 1.84 ERA and 0.87 WHIP and was the heavy favorite for the IL Pale Ale. Last week we talked about Cade Hogan and it might be time to see what the 23 year old currently in AAA can do.
Prospect of the Week
SS Jaden Feldmann - The Rum Runners 1st round pick from 2039 is hitting .244/.330/.470 with 24 HR's and 62 RBI's in 103 AAA games this season. He is the 39th overall prospect in the league and SDR's #2 prospect in the organization. He can play any infield position with a high degree of skill, is dangerous on the base paths, and is considering a good teammate by all.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Tom Jensen of Windy City recorded his 400th career save this week on August 16th against Philly. The 38 year old is a 6x All-Star, 2x Last Call Award winner, and won BLB titles in 2027 with Montreal and 2041 with Windy City. He's third all-time among active players and 23rd all-time overall. First place though belongs to Reynaldo 'Stinger' Jimenez, who with 762 career saves will probably never be challenged.
2. Even with Baltimore's 6-1 week and 63-57 overall record the Bulldogs have only an 8% chance of making the playoffs. Dallas has the same record in the DL and has a 46% chance. Over in the IL though five teams (Phi, Cal, Sea, WC, Pho) have a 98% chance while Washington has a 96% chance. That's a hard nut to crack if you are a Bulldog fan. In the DL Pittsburgh, Montreal, and Wilmington are at 100% with SDR, NO, Dal, Har, and Syr ranging from 82 to 30 percent.
3. The two top players in the league in ZR are Wilmington outfielders Ryan Hubbard and Cayden Huff who combine for a +23 rating. No wonder the Clowns are an amazing +37.1 on the season with the next closest being California at +26.8. Sadly Carolina's CJ Harrison has not improved any playing center field this season as his -29.2 ZR is dead last in the league. He was actually drafted in the 7th round of the 2033 draft by New York, then bounced around to Miami, Seattle, Pawtucket, Seattle (again), and finally Carolina before getting a shot in the BLB.
4. On the other side of life for pitching Denver starters Saul Wang and Edward Sandoval are last in the league in run support a game. Sandoval is the only sub 2.0 player as he gets 1.8 while Wang is tied with two others at 2.1 RSG. They are a combined 10-22 and Wang looks like he could be a #2 or even #1 pitcher in the league. Living the high life is Roadrunners starter Zak Stewart who is first with 4.6 RSG. He's 10-2 on the season with an ERA only .12 better than Wang.
5. A big four game series kicks off this week as Seattle travels to Philly in the battle of the IL first place teams. Seattle is up 4-3 in the seven games played so far this year, and this will be the last time they meet before a possible postseason match-up. Philly is second in the IL in OBP and features a bullpen that is tops in ERA, while Seattle is third overall in starters ERA and fourth in batting average. So far four of the seven games have been decided by one-run and we're more than excited to see how this one turns out.
