Interleague, Interleague, let's all play some Interleague. With everyone playing six this week California stays on top but the Clowns and Bulldogs were the cream of the crop after going 5-1. Wilmington went 2-1 against those Kodiaks and swept the Knights of New York. Baltimore meanwhile went 2-1 against the Rum Runners and swept Indianapolis. The teams that didn't rise to the top were those Rum Runners and the Canadians who each went 1-5. Such is the story of the BLB though. One week you're hot, one week you're not. Some team leaders: Dallas cranked 16 home runs, Baltimore scored 39 runs, Syracuse swiped 9 bases, Washington and Hartford only allowed 15 runs, and Wilmington struck out 76 batters as opponents only hit .175 off of them.

Performance of the Week
RF Lucas Cannon - The 28 year old had a day on July 13th against New Orleans when in four at bats he had four hits, two home runs, and drove in seven during an 8-3 Red Jackets victory. On the season he's hitting .225/.289/.346 with 8 HR's and 30 RBI's.
Injury of the Week
P Pat 'Baja' Arballo - We missed this last week but what a blow for the Freedom after 'Baja' went down on July 2nd and will be out for almost a year with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He came over from Toronto not even a month prior and was 2-1 with a 1.55 ERA in four starts for Philly. He was going to be the ace of the staff, but at 37 years old and with over 4000 innings pitched in his career this might be the end.
Trivia of the Day: 'Baja' is currently #3 all-time in regular season innings pitched. Who is #1 and #2?
Spoiler
Prospect of the Week
P Marshall Lowneyn - The 19 year old finished 3rd for the CCBL Outstanding Pitcher award in his first season with the Chatham Anglers. In 11 starts he was 4-1 with a 2.88 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. He throws four pitches, has good stamina, and can reach 99 mph on the gun. He is known for staying cool under pressure and in his only postseason outing this season he went 7 innings, allowed one hit and struck out 11.
Five Things We Think We Think
1.JJ Plumley is once again favored for the Pale Ale and has a good shot at accomplishing the Triple Crown in the DL as well. On the year he's 9-5 with a 2.89 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 4.8 WAR. He's first in ERA and K's in the DL, and third in wins. At 34 years old he's an 8x All-Star and 4x Pale Ale recipient. Justly so the Clown resigned him this past week to a three year deal worth a reported $85.5 million.
2. Speaking of extensions is JD 'Hurricane' Rice going to get one? The Rice watch is on full go as he is set to enter free agency after this season. This last week he hit .429 with 3 HR's and on the season he's hitting .289/.355/.619 with 24 HR's and 58 RBI's. The 7x All-Star and 2x Stout Slugger has the Bulldogs at 45-45, but currently due to a stacked IL only at a 3% chance of making the postseason. Maybe a contender will come shopping?
3. In the "We Love These Guys" All-Star break edition Philly is 8-1 against Baltimore, Phoenix is 8-0 vs Batavia, Santo Domingo is 8-0 against Maine, Montreal is 8-1 vs Santo Domingo, New Orleans is 7-1 against Syracuse, and California is 7-1 vs both Batavia and Carolina.
4. As mentioned the 2042 All-Star game is this Friday as the stars of the league square off for the annual classic. In the Import Dawson Davis leads all in votes while in the Domestic Elmer 'Bane' Caceres is the main man. Some leading vote receivers who will be first time All-Stars. SS Andrew Otero (WAS), OF Hassan McDaniel (WAS), RP Buddy Engel (WC), OF Vince Griffiths (PIT), and OF Layne 'Pinto' Marmol (MON).
5. Due to the short week we only have one series this week amongst teams. Two we are looking forward to: Windy City at Seattle and New Orleans at Dallas. In the first one the Blues and Pilots are battling in the 'Brutal Bock' with division leader California. Seattle is only out of first by one game while Windy City only trails by two. Both are going to the postseason but winning the division and playing one less series come playoff time will be of the utmost importance in the Import. The later game features a really good playoff team in the Voodoo against the up and coming Drillers. Dallas is 24-15 since June 1st and have some young guys playing well. Throw in the #1 ranked Minor League System and there is a lot to like about the future in Dallas.
