The writers of the DK sit down this week to take a look at our picks for the awards at the halfway point of the 2042 season.
DL Pale Ale - Maynor Franco (MON) 11 W 103.2 IP 78 K 0.99 WHIP. 2.2 WAR
The ace of the Montreal Exports has been practically perfect this year. At only 25 years old, he anchors one of the league’s strongest teams.
Runners-Up – J.J. Plumley (WIL), Seth Cobb (NO)
DL Stout Slugger – Preston Capps (MON) 0.324 AVG 15 HR 43 RBI 31 SB 4.1 WAR
The IL’s best all around player is backing up his coming out party season from last year. A fabulous defender, and a plus runner, Capps has an outside shot at becoming the league’s first 40-40 player, with 30-30 being a certainty this year.
Runners-Up – Colby Hullinger (NO), Dominique Graham (SYR)
DL Refreshing New Brew – Dawson Lamb (DAL) 8 W. 106.0 IP 102 K 1.02 WHIP 2.0 WAR
After a taste of the BLB last season, Lamb has exploded onto the scene as one of the best pitchers in the BLB in only his first full season. He leads an exciting Drillers team, and the 23 year old is just beginning what management hopes will be a long and productive career.
Runners-Up – Vince Griffiths (PIT), Aman Djorovic (WIL)
DL Best Manager – T.J. Rowe (SYR) 44-41 0.518 W%
Coming off a season that saw the Snappers almost take home the crown, Rowe has managed to keep the team focused after an early season letdown and right in the thick of the DL Wild Card race.
Runners-Up – J.P. Scott (PIT), Jamie Elliot (DAL)
IL Pale Ale – Barton Mejia (WC) 11 W 115.1 158 K 0.93 WHIP 5.7 WAR
Really nothing else to say here. Quite possible the greatest pitcher the BLB has ever seen is doing it again, and in dominating fashion!
Runners-Up – Derek Bell (PHO), Bradley Beehn (SEA)
IL Stout Slugger – Dawson Davis (WC) 0.304 AVG 31 HR 73 RBI 2 SB 4.5 WAR
Much like his teammate Mejia, Dawson is continuing his dominance after taking home the Stout Slugger last season. The best player on the best team just keeps on rolling!
IL Refreshing New Brew – Taylor Harmon (SEA) 0.241 25 HR 61 RBI 2 SB 1.5 WAR
Harmon does only one thing, but that one thing he does…. Hit home runs…. He does really, really well! On pace for 50 home runs in a season where there really isn’t another offensive challenger gives him the edge here.
Runners-Up – Timmy Brown (NYK), Grant Garrison (WAS)
IL Best Manager – Erik Parham (Unemployed) 40-34 0.541 W%
In easily the game’s best division, Parham has managed to stay in the thick of the race while piecing together a lineup to complement the BLB’s best pitching staff. Unfortunately, it appears that GM GoRpn completely disagreed, as Parham was fired just as this article was going to print.
Runeers-Up – Jayden McDaniel (PHI), Shane Blaskovich (NYK)
