    Performance of the Week

RF Xzavier 'Blockhead' Medellin - The Roadrunners 1st round pick in 2034 is having a great season and added to it on July 17th against Seattle. In four at bats he hit three home runs and drove in six and Phoenix held on for a 7-6 victory. On the season the 24 year old is hitting .310/.376/.563 with 21 HR's and 59 RBI's while putting up a 2.0 WAR.

    Injury of the Week

CF Hayden Wilson - The rookie center fielder for the Drillers strained his hamstring making an amazing catch on July 16th against New Orleans. In the top of the 4th the Voodoo's Parker Wood hit a shot to the gap between center and right and Wilson got on his horse. He made a sliding catch which brought the fans to their feet but he stayed down for almost a minute. When he got up he limped to the dugout and was removed from the game. He's expected to miss over two months and will be a big loss for a Dallas team which is still hanging around in the playoff race. On the season he's hitting .261 with 6 HR's, 20 RBI's, 10 stolen bases, and a +1.7 ZR in center.

    Prospect of the Week

P Troy Hill - The #1 pitching prospect in the league is currently in AA and in his last start allowed two runs over seven while striking out 13. On the season he's 4-5 with a 3.41 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 2.2 WAR in 17 starts. He was a second round pick back in 2039, can throw up to 97 mph, has an outstanding five-pitch repertoire, and has the stamina to go all game long.

Five Things We Think We Think

    1. Congrats to the Domestic who spanked the Import 7-1 this past week in the 2041 All-Star game. The DL started out hot against Sheng 'Admiral' Jong as Erwijn 'Moriarity' de Jong singled, Preston Capps was beaned, Elmer 'Bane' Caceres walked, Javy 'Blur' Gudino singled which scored two, and then Irvin Watts smoked a three-run shot. That was the end of Jong who gave up five runs on 37 pitches and left the game with a 45.00 ERA. The Import scored their only run of the game also in the first from a Drew Ansell solo shot as the DL pitchers held them to only two hits the rest of the way.

    2. At the All-Star break the currently Playoff Odds have the Domestic with locks of Wilmington, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, and Santo Domingo. The excitement comes from the four way race between Montreal, Syracuse, Hartford, and Dallas. Currently the Exports have a 50% shot as their opponents remaining .483 win percentage is second lowest in the league only to Baltimore. In the Import the locks are Washington, California, Windy City, and Seattle as Baltimore, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Denver will fight it out for the last two openings.

    3. Congrats to Montreal's 3B Chris Pineda who hit his 400th career home run on July 16th against Indianapolis. It was one of two home runs the 35 year old hit that day as he's now hitting .260 with 22 on the season. At 401 total round trippers he is 38th all-time and could end up in the top 25 by seasons end. He was the 3rd overall pick in the 2026 draft by New York and helped the 83 win Knights take home the 2029 Brewmasters Cup. Over the course of 10 playoff games that season he hit .394 with 4 HR's and was named the ILCS MVP when the Knights took down Death Valley four games to one.

    4. It looks like the race to hit .400 is over this season as only Dave Nichols has a shot...and that shot involves him hitting .441 down the stretch. When both Richie 'Powder' van Luik and Johnny Thompson did it for Seattle in 2039 it was the first time in BLB history, and we might have to wait another 60 seasons to see it again. 'Powder' is currently hitting .294 while Thompson is in AAA after hitting .105 in 12 games for Seattle this season.

    5. Some big series kick off the second half of the season and we are excited to watch. Seattle travels to California, with the Pilots taking six of the nine games so far. Philly travels to Baltimore, in what could be a potential future wildcard series. Finally Denver goes to Windy City to take on the Blues. The Bulls are 48-47 and only a half game out of the final wildcard spot. Time for the young hitters to step it up and build off of last years 88 win playoff team.
