Seattle goes a perfect 6-0 with sweeps of Carolina and Phoenix and takes quite a lead in the Power Rankings and the Bock. Up now 9.5 games over California they have the biggest lead in the BLB and look to be cruising to another division title. Not letting the lead get to double digits quite yet though were those Kodiaks who went 5-1 with a sweep of Windy City. Also LAD went 5-1 and keeps those slim playoff hopes alive. On the other side of life Carolina went 0-6 while Dallas and Baltimore went 1-5.

Performance of the Week
P Dave Jeffers - The 35 year old still has a lot of gas in the tank as on June 28th he went 10 innings, allowed one run, struck out five and walked none against Phoenix. Sadly in the end the Roadrunners hit a walkoff triple in the bottom of the 15th and Jeffers 103 pitch effort was all for naught.
Injury of the Week
P Yuri 'Punk' Baldwin - On June 29th against Philly the 27 year old took the mound. After 5.2 innings, three earned runs, and nine K's he felt pain in his shoulder and was removed from the game. He was later diagnosed with a partially torn labrum and will miss 3-4 months. Baldwin signed a $140m contract this offseason and was 3-4 with a 2.92 ERA and 1.08 WHIP this season.
Prospect of the Week
P Glen Hogan - The 21 year old was an 8th round draft pick by LAD in 2039 and is putting together a nice season in the Rookie League. This past week he was 2-0 with 15 K's and a 1.46 ERA, and overall this year he's 7-4 with a 2.93 ERA in 12 starts. He throws up to 97 mph, has a slider and cutter to go with a changeup, and has the stamina to be a starter.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. We figured Dominique Graham would be part of Baltimore's playoff run this year, but instead he found himself playing for Syracuse after that blockbuster deal for the #1 pick. He was just named the Domestic League Rookie of the Month after hitting .351 with 4 HR's and 19 RBI's, and overall he's hitting .311 with 5 HR's and 31 RBI's for the year. At 23 years old he could be a Stout Slugger candidate in another season or two when he fully matures. Overall for rookies though California's Ezra Chalmers seems to be the cream of the crop. He's leading all rookies in average (.299), home runs (16), OBP, SLG, runs, extra base hits, isolated power, WPA, WOBA , and about every other offensive category.
2. In the "we love playing you guys" category we have some early season winners. Seattle is 9-0 vs Phoenix, Washington is 8-1 vs Carolina, Pawtucket is 7-0 vs Dallas, LAD is 6-1 vs Baltimore, and Batavia is 6-1 vs LAD.
3. We are just under three weeks away from the 2040 All-Star game. JD Rice leads all vote getters with almost 3.5 million votes. As of now some first time potential All-Stars include Coleman Franklin (WAS), Ben Clewley (DEN), Danny Ley (SEA), Frasier Gilbert (WC), Eiichi Nagao (CAL), Irvin Watts (PIT), Giacobbe Garibaldi (NO), and Rudy Dane (WIL).
4. One guy that isn't getting a lot of attention but should be is Roadrunners closer Keon Eskridge. The 25 year old last season was 3-10 with 21 saves and a 6.35 ERA in 49 games. His ERA+ was 70. This year he's 2-1 with 11 saves and a 0.96 ERA in 26 games. His ERA+ is 448.
5. We talked about Adrian Gramling recently, the 19 year old phenom in the Bats system, but let's talk about him some more. This past week he hit .500 with 4 HR's and 18 RBI's...in six games. He was a 3rd round pick back in 2038 and scouts think he is BLB ready as of now. For the time being he'll just continue to terrorize A ball pitchers.
