The Denver Bulls seize the week by going a perfect 6-0 with sweeps of Dallas and Santo Domingo. The Bulls allowed only 18 runs while putting 40 on the board, both of those good enough for second best on the week. Meanwhile the Seattle Pilots swooped into the top spot of the Power Rankings after going 5-1 as they also swept Dallas and took two of three from Syracuse. On the other side of life is...you guessed it...the Dallas Drillers who went 0-6. They did post a somewhat respectable 4.58 ERA on the week but they hit .222 and scored only 19 runs.

Performance of the Week
1B Elmer 'Bane' Caceres - Hitting below .300 for the first time since his 2035 rookie season it looks like 'Bane' might be waking up. This last week on June 13th against Carolina he tallied up four hits, five RBI's, and two home runs and provided the entire offense in a 13-5 loss. On the season he's hitting .286/.390/.514 with 14 HR's and 36 RBI's.
Injury of the Week
P Kyle Warda - All though the rookie wasn't put up great numbers no one likes to see a 25 year suffer a torn UCL, but that is exactly what happened on June 16h. Against SDR he came in during the top of the 6th and made it to the top of the 7th before having to leave with pain on the inner side of his throwing elbow. An MRI was done and the injury was found. Warda was drafted out of Miami back in 2035 and even though he is a fireballer with three great pitches he suffers with control issues.
Prospect of the Week
P Johnathan Holt - He debuts as the highest rated prospect of the 2040 draft, coming in at #8 overall. Drafted 1.3 by Pawtucket he went 8-4 with a 2.77 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 23 starts over the course of two seasons at Clemson. He performs best in big games, throws up to 99 mph, and has a devastating fastball and changup to go with a very good curve.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Denver has run off eight wins in a row and is now above .500 for the season. The last in that stretch came two days ago at home against Dallas. The game went into extras and Dallas was able to score a run in the top of the 11th off a solo shot by Richard Williams. The Bulls first two batters in the bottom of the 11th ground out and struck out, and the streak looked as good as over. Drillers pitcher Tristan Horowitz then walked Ben Clewley and Dave Crackel, and up walked Benji Allgood. Two balls and two strikes later Allgood hit a monster 416 foot walk off home run and sent the nearly 36,000 in attendance into a frenzy.
2. Currently four teams have not had an injury yet this season as Batavia, Windy City, Hartford, and that team out on the west coast have escaped the wrath of the BLB gods. We say that team out on the west coast because last time we mentioned them the DK was flooded with obscene phone calls and graphic emails, which was later traced down to a computer in the GM's office. He denied all responsibility and claimed he was hacked but we don't want to take any chances as some things can never be unseen. On the other side Syracuse has seen seven players go down, but if anyone should be crying it's Seattle, who currently has $10.05 million sitting on the injured list.
3. JJ Plumley finally lost for the first time since 2039 as Windy City took down the Clowns 5-1 on June 12th. Plumely allowed four runs, two earned, while strikeout out six and walking none over six innings of work. He's now 4-1 with a 2.11 ERA in 12 starts this season.
4. Speaking of Windy City where did Sidney 'Doofus' Ishibashi hide his bat? In 2038 he hit 48 HR's in AAA, in 2039 he hit 41 HR's in the BLB. In the 2040 WBC he hit 6 HR's in 17 games, and in Spring Training he hit 9 HR's. So far in the regular season he's hit two...yes two...in 59 games. We haven't heard any reports of injuries coming from our Chicago affiliates so we think it just might a sophomore slump. We still think he finishes with 25 or more by the end of the season.
5. Two more milestones this week as Dave 'Bulldog' Bickford recorded his 2000th and Jonathon Valenti got his 2500th career hit. 'Bulldog' was a 1st round pick back in 2024 by Denver but was traded to New York two months after the draft. He played there from 2026 to 2035 before signing a five year contract with Windy City. He's a lifetime .277 hitter who is a 3x All-Star and helped the Knights win the 2029 Brewmasters Cup. Valenti was a 2nd round pick in 2021 by New York who played there from 2024 to 2028. He was traded to Baltimore prior to the 2029 season and missed out on the championship run. Since then he has played for Syracuse, Santo Domingo, LAD, New York (again) and now Syracuse (again).
