New Orleans, Montreal, and Pittsburgh all went 5-2 to take the weekly award, while Dallas went 1-5 to win the participation ribbon. The Drillers fans though can take solace in that they still have a 1.5 game lead over Toronto for the Lager cellar, and with the 8th best minor league system there is hope for the future.

Performance of the Week
1B Ahmed Salter - On June 6th against Indy the 28 year old turned in the 7th best hitting performance of the season during a 13-3 Canadians victory. His stat line for the day was three hits, two home runs, four RBI's, and four runs scored. On the season he's hitting .304/.388/.515 with 8 HR's and 33 RBI's.
Injury of the Week
P Zander Wyatt - The Patriots might be looking for a new strength coach after this week when they suffered a few injuries, but none worse than Wyatt. The 23 year old was a 2nd round pick in 2034 and was doing phenomenal in his rookie campaign until June 5th when he tore his rotator cuff against Hartford and will miss the rest of the season. In four starts he had posted a 1-1 record with a 1.29 ERA and 1.14 WHIP.
Prospect of the Week
P Mickey Decker - In 2036 he was discovered by then Miami scouts, and he has slowly worked his way up to the #18 prospect in the league. In eight Rookie League starts he's 3-0 with a 0.87 ERA and 0.77 WHIP. He throws up to 100 mph, has four solid pitches, and his 54 Ks to 8 walks is quite impressive.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. The BLB draft takes place this week as the influx of 240 new hopefuls from the high school and college ranks enter the BLB. With the Rookie League 34 games into the season organizations will have several more weeks before the dreaded 'cut day' approaches. Until then look for a lot of guys to be playing hard for their BLB futures.
2. We just had a write-up about Dusty Janson collecting his 2000th career hit on May 27th. Now here we go again as on June 9th he recorded his 400th career home run. In 62 years of BLB baseball there are only 29 other players who have reached both of those milestones.
3. Eight teams currently register with attainable playoff probabilities in the DL while nine are on the list for the IL. Currently the Pittsburgh Millers hold the biggest division lead, and that is only at 6.5 games. For it being mid-June this is the closest the BLB has been in years. Will all the parity create a more robust trading environment down the road, or will more teams be holding onto their aging stars in hopes of a late playoff run? Only time will tell.
4. We're back to interleague this week as the DL and IL do battle for the third time this season. Some match-ups we are anticipating with glee are first place Washington at first place Montreal, second place Wilmington at second place California, and third place Syracuse traveling to first place Seattle.
5. The early .400 hitters and Triple Crown watch is up. So far Richie 'Powder' van Luik is the only one with a legitimate shot to reach .400...again...while Sheng 'Admiral' Jong of Batavia is the early favorite for the IL Triple Crown. On the season Jong is 10-1 with a 2.03 ERA and 95 K's. He is first in K's and wins and second to Roadrunners youngster Derek Bell who is sporting a 1.99 ERA. Bell was a 3rd round pick back in 2032 and looks like he could be an emerging dominant force in the pitching rich IL.
