(AP) After going on a brief vacation and then fighting a bad illness we are finally back at the helm of the DK. It doesn't look like much changed as five of the six top teams reside in the IL, the Bock is still a bloodbath with three 40+ win teams, and soon to be free agent Rory Elia is still winning Player of the Week awards. The big winners this week were Toronto and Washington who each went 5-1. The Canadians are 5.5 games back in the Lager while the Bats are tied with Batavia at 39-25 for the Stout lead. On the flip side Maine and Philadelphia both struggled this week by going 1-5. With everyone playing six interleague games Carolina led all with 18 home runs, Toronto scored 53 runs, Pittsburgh swiped 11 bases, Batavia and Indy only allowed 14 runs, Washington gave up just 3 home runs, and Toronto tossed the only complete game of the week.

Performance of the Week
RF Trey Eubanks - On June 8th the 26 year old turned in the 3rd best hitting performance of the season against Los Angeles. In four at bats he recorded four hits, hit three home runs, drove in five and scored three times in an 8-1 victory. On the season he's hitting .273/.343/.475 with 13 home runs and 32 RBI's.
Injury of the Week
2B Killian Pena - We heard about this one while we were on our brief hiatus and it's a painful one as on June 2nd he broke his kneecap in a collision at second base with Bulldogs outfielder Desmond Roman. He is out for the rest of the season and this might be the end his career for the 37 year old. At $32.4 million he is the highest paid player in the BLB and was leading the Dino's in average, home runs, and RBI's at the time of his injury.
Prospect of the Week
Zander Rensberger - After hitting .320/.408/.680 with 17 HR's and 42 RBI's the 20 year old was just voted the CCBL Outstanding Hitter while also winning the Platinum Stick and Glove Wizard award at short stop. Not a bad year for the two-time Cape Cod All-Star who is projected to go in this years BLB draft.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Congrats to Micah Gordon and Pat Branum who each hit their 300th career home run this week. Gordon is 35 years old, was picked 3rd overall in 2024 by Wilmington, and this is his 14th season in the BLB. He is a four time All-Star and won a DWI at catcher back in 2030. Branum is 31 years old, was picked 24th overall in 2028 by Indy, and is in his 11th season. He is a two time All-Star and four time DWI winner at first base. He was also the 2034 Brewmasters Cup MVP when the Racers took down the Seattle Pilots to win their second title in 10 years.
2. Did we mention 25 year old Rory Elia is going to be a free agent after this season? Unless Carolina works some magic behind the scenes the five time All-Star, four time Designated Driver, three time DWI winner, and two time Stout Slugger is going to walk. This year he's hitting .262/.326/.544 with 20 HR's and 44 RBI's in 63 games. In a 2031 draft that featured Robert Jessee, Seth Blankenship, Marco Taylor, and Dawson Davis he was picked after all of them while his 33.3 career WAR is tops among them all. Someone is going to get paid!
3. All-Star voting has started and so far JD Rice leads the IL while Elmer Caceres leads the DL in votes. You know who isn't getting the votes...Ian James. He has been to every All-Star game since 2025 (14 in a row) but needs one more to tie the all-time record held by Reynaldo 'Stinger' Jimenez who went every season from 2005 to 2019. So far this year James is hitting .242/.324/.407 with 7 HR's and 22 RBI's as he splits time with 26 year old Nigel Northern.
4. The BLB draft will take place this week with the Syracuse Snappers getting the 1st pick. Will they add another potential ace to their already impressive young staff or will they go hitter in an attempt to replace Seth Blankenship? Word on the street is that they are very interested in Oklahoma State outfielder Brooks Collins. He has the ability to play both infield and outfield and helped lead the Cowboys to victory in the 2039 NCAA College World Series. He's also a favorite to win the NCAA Outstanding Hitter award after batting .323/.456/.646 with 17 HR's and 49 RBI's in 48 games this year.
5. As the World Baseball Classic gets closer Africa has released their official team logo and uniforms. Enjoy!
