Everyone played six this week and the two undefeated teams were the Indianapolis Racers...who won their 12th straight and moved into the #1 PR spot...and the Santo Domingo Rum Runners who managed to hold onto a three game lead over the Racers in the Lager. Indy allowed an absurd five runs in six games to post a 0.76 ERA while the Rum Runners used offense as their 51 runs were tops in the league. The bell curve worked out a little better this week as Denver and Montreal completed the other side by going 0-6. The BC were outscored 49-8 while the Exports posted a 7.94 ERA and was the only team who walked more batters than they struck out.

Performance of the Week
P Jamie Pierce - On July 24th he smoked Philly with a three hit shutout while striking out 11 and only walking one during a 7-0 victory. On the season the 29 year old is 8-2 with a 3.69 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 115 ERA+. Drafted by New York in the 1st round of the 2027 draft this is his 8th season with the Knights and fourth career shutout.
Injury of the Week
2B Killian Pena - The 35 year old is only in his 3rd BLB season but suffered his biggest injury by far when he tore his hamstring on July 22nd going from 1st to 3rd on a single against Denver. He is expected to be out about two months which is a huge blow for a team fighting for a wildcard spot. On the year he's hitting .327/.403/.495 with 13 HR's, 44 RBI's, and a 2.8 WAR.
Prospect of the Week
CF Cayden Huff - Another power hitting center fielder might be joining the likes of Elia, Blankenship, and Stark in the BLB someday soon. Right now he's only 20 but the former 1.6 pick of the 2034 draft is hitting .305/.377/.552 with 17 HR's in 81 A ball games this season. He's as fast as almost anyone in the league and his defensive ability is off the charts. Coaches and scouts say he has the "ability to effectively prepare for upcoming games" and is a great teammate.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. We talked about some milestones last week and it didn't take long to reach a few of them. Congrats to AJ Ingle for notching his 600th career save and Dylan Owens for hitting his 500th career home run. Owens moves into 6th all-time by passing Tom Lewis and Ingle is 4th all-time and now only seven away from passing Koichi 'Gargoyle' Nakashima and moving into 3rd.
2. In the we like seeing these guys department: California is 6-0 vs Denver, 7-0 vs Philly, and 7-0 vs Washington, SDR is 6-0 vs Montreal and 6-0 vs New Orleans, Batavia is 7-0 vs Denver, NO is 7-0 vs Maine, and Hartford is 7-0 vs Miami.
3. The Triple Crown race still has Johnny Swope 1st in average and HR's but he is now 14 RBI's behind first place Rory Elia. That might be a hard mountain to climb. Meanwhile Seth Blankenship has slowed down slightly and is now on pace for 45 HR's and 42 SB's. His only competition as of now is Manny Quezada who is on pace for 41 HR's and 34 SB's.
4. With the Millers having a dreadful July the Syracuse Snappers have moved back into 1st in the Ale. They are the only division leader with a negative zone rating as they currently sit at -2.7. Santo Domingo is at +6.1, Batavia is +22.0, and California is +26.2. LAD is 1st overall at +33.0.
5. After winning just seven games in April and May combined the Pawtucket Patriots have won seven games each of the last two months and are now 21-77. Will they be able to win enough down the stretch to pass the 1981 California Wildfire who went 39-123? They currently have the second toughest opponent record the rest of the way so going 19-45 will be no easy task for a team that has only scored 269 runs while giving up 570.
