The Red Jackets are the #1 team in the land after a huge 6-0 week with a four game sweep of Seattle and taking both from Denver as well. They now hold a nine game lead in the Stout over Carolina going into the break. Other big weeks were Indy and Phoenix who went 5-2 while Montreal...yes those lovable Exports...went 5-1 by taking both games from Pawtucket and going 3-1 against Wilmington. The bell curve wasn't exactly a bell this week and congrats are in order because every single team in the BLB won at least two games. Some teams leaders this week: Batavia crushed 15 home runs in only six games, Phoenix swiped 16 bases in seven games without being thrown out, those pesky Red Jackets allowed only 14 runs, and California only allowed three long balls in six games.

Performance of the Week
RF Ron 'Vampire' Hutchison - On July 13th against New Orleans he rocked the Dukes with three home runs while driving in six during a 8-6 victory. He's hitting .261/.343/.581 with 30 HR's and 67 RBI's which would be a dream season for most players but for Vampire is actually a down year. If he gets hot during the second half of the season opposing pitchers better look out.
Injury of the Week
P Robby Diaz - On July 12th he was removed from the game against Indy and diagnosed with rotator cuff inflammation and will be out for 2-3 months. On July 13th the 30 year old was named to his second career All-Star team. A cruel blow to a guy who is having his best BLB season to date with a 5-3 record and 1.96 ERA. Word on the street is that the Millers are now shopping for bullpen help.
Prospect of the Week
P Salvadaro Ricca - Coming in hot at #100 on the top prospect list the Brazilian IAFA was signed by Syracuse scouts back in 2029 but traded to Maine as part of the Turell 'Two Ton' Morris trade in 2034. He's now pitching in the BLB and is 1-3 with a 6.23 ERA in seven starts which isn't very good, but scouts believe he has a ton of upside. He turns 24 in a month though so here's to hoping he figures it out soon.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Thank you to Paul as our fill in as we traveled the country these past few weeks. It was an amazing job and now we can rest easy next time the bus goes on tour. Sadly it didn't seem to help the Kodiaks attendance woes.
2. The BLB has gone cycling this year as Miami's Dave Nichols hit for one on July 13th against Syracuse in a 6-2 victory. That's four this season which ties the amount of times from 2032-2035.
3. The international fight scene is up and running in the BLB. This week LAD's Killian Pena from Venezuela squared off against Washington's Reggie Chao from Taiwan during a July 13th match-up between the two teams. After Amari Gibbs hit a two run home run off of Chao he decided to bean Pena on the first pitch of the next at bat and Pena didn't take kindly to it. The fight went for a good five minutes before the umpire was able to restore control. Chao got a six game suspension while Pena got three.
4. Pat Pierce of Carolina blasted his 300th career home run this week on July 11th against Windy City. The four time All-Star and two time designated driver at second was the 7th overall pick of the 2023 draft by Davenport before being the 5th overall pick by Carolina in the 2027 dispersal draft. At 33 years old he's slowing down but still has two more years of making $23,000,000 a season after this one.
5. Congrats to the 2036 BLB All-Stars. The game will be played tomorrow with JJ Plumley on the mound for the DL while Manubu Hamada gets the start for the IL.
