(AP)
With a 4-2 week the Indianapolis Racers stay on top and are still the only team to have clinched their division. It is their first division title since 2026 but their 4th straight playoff appearance. The biggest weeks though belonged to Pittsburgh and Miami who went 6-0 and 5-1. The Millers won't win their division but they are now in the first wildcard spot. Meanwhile with their five wins Miami secured their 7th straight postseason appearance which they last did from 2015-2021 when they were the Dallas Sharks. On the other side of the rainbow Maine went 1-5 and Denver went 1-6. Denver and Montreal now have 39 wins and are tied for the worst season in BLB history with the 1981 California Wildfire. Just win one baby!

Performance of the Week
P Pat Schick - Even though the Knights are long out of playoff contention the 30 year old Schick has continued to put on a clinic in pitching this season. On September 29th against Batavia he went eight innings, allowed two hits, struck out eight, and walked one in a 1-0 New York victory. On the season he's 13-9 with a 2.98 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 130 ERA+.
Injury of the Week
3B Ron Snider - On September 25th against Philly he went down hard in the 7th on a fielders choice at second and never got back up. Finally several teammates had to help him hobble off the field. Team trainers later stated he tore his hamstring and will miss the rest of the season, which is a huge blow for the first place Bulldogs who are trying to hold off the Bats for the Stout title. On the year he hit .263/.351/.518 with 28 HR's, 68 RBI's, and a 131 wRC+ while playing 113 games at third base.
Prospect of the Week
3B Paul Langfeldt - The only hitter on the Top 100 list batting list that wasn't drafted in the 1st or 2nd round and wasn't an IAFA or scouting discovery. Morale of the story...1st and 2nd round picks are possibly valuable. Langfeldt was drafted this season in the 3rd round with the 52nd overall pick. He played the year in the Rookie League and hit .286/.329/.424 with 29 RBI's in 49 games.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Turell 'Two Ton' Morris blasted five home runs and drove in 16 runs this past week...no one else even made it to double digits. On the season now he has 49 HR's and 107 RBI's, his 4th highest home run total of his career. After hitting 39 each of the last two years he's now two away from tying his 3rd best performance and still an amazing 20 away from his miracle 69 home run season of 2030.
2. No one had a better September than Batavia who went 20-8 and now can finish anywhere from the 2nd to 4th in the IL wildcard. They scored 134 runs, 3rd best, and only allowed a league leading 84 runs as their 2.78 ERA was tops by almost a quarter point. They even had budding superstar Marco Taylor collect his second Rookie of the Month award. The 22 year old was drafted 1.3 back in 2031 out of Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) and even played 52 games in AAA before being called up this season.
3. Hats off to 33 year old Robby Brooksher who collected his 2,000 hit and 34 year old Chris Lemus who launched his 300th home run this week. While Brooksher is a nine time All-Star, Lemus is probably one of the most under the radar players to reach this number. He was a former 1st round pick by California in a 2022 draft that featured such sluggers as Johnny Swope, Brooksher, Ron Snider, Bruno Damours, Josh Wright and Dave Maldonado. Hard to make a name for yourself in that class.
4. Washington and Baltimore are separated by two games with six to play for the Stout title. The Bulldogs are at Batavia and New York while the Bats are home against New York then away against Carolina. Seattle and California are separated by two games with six to play for the Bock title. The Pilots are at home against LA and Denver while the Kodiaks travel to Denver and Phoenix. Will we be seeing a Lonnie Coleman game...or two? One thing the Bats have already won is the attendance battle. With 3,257,088 fans who have already come through the turnstile they edged out Baltimore for the season victory with three more home games to go. They should end up in the top fifty all-time with those numbers but still a ways from 2009 and 2008 Windy City who drew 3.65m and 3.64m fans during those two seasons and rank #1 and #2 all-time.
5. Some big series to close out the year in the DL wildcard race as Pittsburgh hosts Hartford and Miami travels to Santo Domingo. The Whalers lead the series 5-4 this season and these last three games could decide who's the first and who's the second wildcard team in the DL. Meanwhile Miami is up two games on SDR for the 3rd wildcard spot and this series should decide who's third and who is fourth. The Sharks lead the season series 5-4 as well.
