Remember when the DK picked Baltimore to win the 2035 Brewmasters! We do too...and they assume the top of the power rankings this week by winning all seven games (and 10 in a row) with sweeps over Denver and Philly. They now lead the stout by 5.5 games and will be the #1 seed in the IL if they maintain this course. Other big weeks belong to Syracuse, Seattle, Indy, Batavia, Carolina, Pittsburgh and Montreal...yes Montreal...who all went 5-2. Meanwhile Denver and California both went 1-6 as the Kodiaks lead in the Bock is now down to a half game over Seattle. With everyone playing seven here are some team leaders: Montreal hit .317, Pittsburgh crushed 12 HR's and scored 37 runs, Wilmington swiped 13 bases, Syracuse allowed only 12 runs, and Indy didn't allow a single home run.

Performance of the Week
P J.J. Plumley - The newly minted millionaire is doing everything he can to keep the Clown playoffs hopes afloat. On September 8th against Maine he turned in the #1 pitching performance of the season when he went 8 innings, allowed one hit, walked none, and struck out 13 en route to a 2-1 Wilmington victory. On the season he's 12-5 with a 2.19 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 187 ERA+.
Injury of the Week
C B.J. Love - With no significant injuries this week poor BJ Love gets the honor after breaking his foot on September 4th when he was beaned by Joey Moore. He will be out for about a month and will enjoy his time off.
Prospect of the Week
P Mat Guérin - Signed out of Haiti in 2034 he's worked his way up to the #21 prospect in the league and is currently in the Dinos international complex. Scouts believe his potential has him as a future #2 or #3 starter with great control and three solid pitches.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. On September 6th Jame O'Hearn called it a career and officially retired from the BLB. He was drafted with the 3rd overall pick of the 2014 draft and played 17 season with Pittsburgh before being traded to Denver. After playing two seasons there he bounced around between Windy City, Denver again, and Santo Domingo before being traded back to Pittsburgh earlier this season. O'Hearn finishes as the BLB all-time leader in home runs with 612. He was a nine time All-Star, eight time Silver Slugger, and won the Stout Slugger in 2021. His lifetime numbers are .282/.349/.529 with 612 HR's, 1724 RBI's (9th all-time), 1659 runs (10th all-time), 2757 hits (21st all-time), and 201 stolen bases. Many consider him a lock for being a first ballot Hall of Famer.
2. California's disastrous 1-6 week featured three losses to Washington and three losses to Seattle, both very good teams with the 3rd and 4th most wins in the IL. They are still predicted with a 100% chance of making the playoffs but winning the Bock is now down to a coin flip between them and Seattle. The Kodiaks are 2-7 against the Pilots this season but still have a huge three game series against them starting September 25th to redeem themselves. Some other team vs team match-ups that haven't been favorable for one of the parties: Montreal is 0-11 against Hartford and 0-9 against Miami, Phoenix is 10-1 against Philly, and Toronto is 0-11 against Syracuse.
3. Montreal is 6-3 this month, which gives them one less win than they had in April, June and July combined! They are now 31-105 and only 8 wins away from tying the 1981 California Wildfire for the most dubious season in BLB history. Go Exports go...don't be a record setter in this case. They do have some other good news in that rookie 2B Oz Mullen was named POTW. The 21 year old was a 3rd round pick in 2031 by Philly but was traded to Montreal in 2032. On the season he's hitting .313/.332/.391 with 30 RBI's. He is also last in the league in pitches seen per plate appearance with 2.91, the only BLB player under 3.00 for the season.
4. Seth Blankenship reached the 30/30 club for the third straight season after making the 20/20 club his rookie year. His projections for the season are 45 HR's and 37 SB's though so unless he gets on his horse he's not going to be the BLB's first 40/40 man. Tom Stark of Seattle currently sits at 25 HR's and 33 SB's and is the only other BLB player with a realistic chance of joining Blankenship this season.
5. Windy City and Batavia are now tied for the final wildcard in the IL. Phoenix is three games behind them, Philly is four, while New York is five and a half. The Freedom and Knights have the toughest remaining schedule while Windy City then Phoenix have the easiest. There is just under a month left and we're in for showdown.
