    Performance of the Week

P Hector 'Nugget' Ruiz - Twenty seven up...twenty seven down. On July 26th against Syracuse, who had won 13 straight, Ruiz threw the first perfect game since 2033 and the 11th in league history. He is now 11-4 with a 2.98 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 19 starts and has become the ace of the Millers staff. At 27 years old he was 1st round pick back in 2026 and this is the first season Pittsburgh has used him as a starter. Looks like he found a new home.

    Injury of the Week

P Robby Umlauf - The 28 year old was drafted by Seattle back in 2027 and has played his entire career with the Pilots. Unfortunately on July 29th he tore his elbow flexor tendon and will require surgery which should keep him out over a year. In 33 games and eight starts he was 3-3 a 3.95 ERA and 1.36 WHIP.

    Prospect of the Week

P Chayse Tijerina - After rupturing his UCL he missed the entire 2034 season and still moved from the 49th to the 43rd top prospect. So far this year he's only been back for four innings but he's 2-0 with 7 K's, 3 walks, and zero earned runs. He was the 11th overall pick in the 2033 draft and at 19 years old scouts still believe he could possibly be a top flight starter someday.

Five Things We Think We Think

    1. California is now 15-7 this month and has taken a one game lead over Seattle for the Bock lead. Johnny Swope is finally setting in and has hit .329 with 8 HR's and 17 RBI's during that time, including three this last week in a game against Windy City, while CJ McVicker is 4-0 with a 1.30 ERA in four starts. Throw in Norm Cupp who just recently had his 20 game hitting streak broken and their post-season odds are up over 90% and they are the favorite to win the division.

    2. Apparently Manny 'Big Cat' Nieto wasn't done after hitting his 400th home run on April 12th. He just won the Player of the Week award and so far in July, his first month back in the BLB, he's hitting an astounding .380/.475/1.020 with 10 HR's and 17 RBI's. Last season in 89 games he hit .227 with 12 HR's and 41 RBIs.

    3. When Windy City signed 16 year old IAFA pitcher Abu al Khayr 'Boy Scout' bin Awad from Iran in 2026 for $5m scouts believed he had starter potential. He broke into the BLB in 2032, started 24 games in 2033 and posted a 5.27 ERA, started 30 games in 2034 and posted a 4.64 ERA, and now has started 17 games this year with a 3.28 ERA. After starting out the season 1-4 he's now won seven straight and is 8-4 with a 118 ERA+.

    4. Someone who has not won seven in a row...or seven games total since 2030 is starter Kintaro Kawakami. He lost his last four games in 2032 for Montreal and spent the last two seasons in the minors. He was called back up this season and is now 0-11, for a grand total of fifteen straight losses. Drafted in the 5th round of the 2018 draft by Toronto he spent seven season north of the border before playing in Baltimore for a season and then heading north again to Montreal in 2032.

    5. Baltimore and Carolina meet this week in a big three game series. This year Baltimore is 5-1 against the Tobs with four one run victories. This will be the two top teams in the Stout last meeting before a September 28th series in the second to last week of the season. Another huge match-up that is in the DL features the two first place teams in Indy traveling to Syracuse for four games. The Racers hold a 4-3 lead on the season series and this will be the last time they see each other in the regular season.

Sad thing is Pittsburgh has had four of the most committed owners we've had in this league. Guys that always exported, always tried to make their team better. And nothing.

Unlike Denver who has this bum named Carlos. What an idiot!

Denver just needs to win 5 titles in their next 5 playoff appearances. Completely doable.
