The Bulldogs from Baltimore kicked open the door, sat on your couch, and ate all your chips this week as they went 7-0 with sweeps of Toronto and LAD. They have won 12 in a row and now lead the Stout by one game...which doesn't mean a whole lot right now as every team from that division has a winning record. Other huge weeks were Pittsburgh, Indy, and Santo Domingo who all went 6-1. On the other side of life (Moody Blues anyone?) Montreal went 0-7 while Denver, Toronto, Wilmingon and Maine all went 1-6.

Performance of the Week
P Tristan Kendrick - On July 1st he dominated New Orleans to the tune of two hits and nine strikeouts over eight scoreless innings in a 1-0 Pilots victory. The journeyman was signed by Seattle this off-season, released in May, signed again nine days later (this time with a $22k bonus) and this was his second start of the year. Selected by Denver with the 254th overall pick from the 2021 draft he has played in 335 BLB games and threw a no-hitter in 2027 against Carolina while playing for the BC.
Injury of the Week
P Luke 'Dr. Evil' Pfaff - On June 26th against Windy City, 'Dr Evil' came in during the 7th and made it 2.1 innings before leaving with elbow pain. He was diagnosed with elbow tendinitis and will be out for at least two months. The 31 year old was a first round pick in 2025 and has been a solid reliever for over a decade. It is unknown if he has any relation to Kade 'Evil Way' McCormick who played from 1993 to 2004 with California, LAD, and Philly.
Prospect of the Week
RF Roddy Sierra - The most dominant player in AAA might be one of the better ones in the BLB as well if he would get the call up. In 73 games he's hitting .351/.432/.627 with 21 HR's, 75 RBI's, and a 180 wRC+. At 23 years old he wants to be in the majors and should be pretty soon.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. With Baltimore going 7-0, and winning 12 in a row, the Stout is even messier now. As mentioned above every team in that crazy division has a winning record, with Philly bringing up the rear at 39-38. During the month of June the Stout went: Baltimore 19-8, Batavia 19-9, Washington 14-13, Carolina 13-13, Philly 13-14, and New York 10-17. Top to bottom is only a seven game difference while the Lager features a 36 game difference between first and last.
2. Poor Robert Jesse of Toronto. The 21 year old is in his first full season and is going to be on the Top Player list very soon. This past week from June 26th to June 28th he played in a three game series against Pittsburgh and recorded eight hits, five home runs, ten runs batted in, and scored eight runs. Toronto lost all three games.
3. Phoenix continues to be the surprise of the league as they now lead the Bock by 1.5 games over Windy City with a 41-35 record. On July 1st they went into the bottom of the 9th down 3-1 to Montreal. With RJ Blewett on base 23 year old rookie Albert Minks, the second overall pick in the 2029 draft, hit a two run home runs to tie it up. Then in the bottom of the 10th Johnny Alpha, a 25 year old rookie, hit a solo shot to end it. Throw in 26 year old Pat 'Melody' Nunes who comes back this week from broken ribs and this team is going places.
4. Interleague is in full swing this week as we look forward to some great series. Baltimore (did we mention they have won 12 in a row) plays both Pittsburgh and Indianapolis. Batavia travels to Miami, Philly travels to play SDR, and Seattle travels to Syracuse.
5. Poor Syracuse still has 49 wins and leads the BLB but hasn't gotten much love this week after Baltimore went 7-0 and won their 12th straight game. Turell 'Two Ton' Morris hit three more home runs this week and leads the BLB with 26, Pat Moore is 3-0 with a 1.67 ERA in his last four starts, and Joey Moore was the DL Pitcher of the Month after going 4-1 with a 1.99 ERA in June. They get a nice Interleague match-up this week at Batavia.
