    Performance of the Week

CF Dave Marion - Batavia is over .500 again thanks to Marion who on June 21st led them to a 11-2 victory over the New York Knights. On the day he had three hits, two of which were home runs, and drove in seven runs. On the year the 26 year old is hitting .261/.322/.474 with 9 HR's, 31 RBI's, and a 118 wRC+.

    Injury of the Week

CF Rory Elia - Devastating news out of Carolina as Elia went down on June 24th in the first inning. Waved on from the third base coach he tried to go from first to third on a single and was thrown out. After a hard slide he came up holding his arm and was taken out of the game. An MRI showed that he tore his labrum and will be out at least four months. On the season the 21 year old was hitting .256/.317/.554 with 20 HR's, 37 RBI's and a 139 wRC+.

    Prospect of the Week

SS Colby 'Mirror' Hullinger - The 17 year old was the 1.3 pick of this years draft and is currently on New Orleans rookie league team. He is rated the #5 overall prospect in the league after being a three time HS All-Star and two time Platinum Stick winner at short stop. His work ethic and intelligence are off the charts and he could be a future star.

Five Things We Think We Think

    1. The Tobs have a 2.5 lead over Washington in the Stout but with Elia going down and setup man Khalil Corey suffering a potential career ending elbow injury can they hold on? Is it time for AA player Chet Sanchez to get the call up? At 23 years old he's Carolina's top hitting prospect and looks like a possible star in the outfield but needs some time to develop his hitting. The Tobs could use his glove while hoping that BLB playing time pushes him over the edge at the plate.

    2. Syracuse continues to be the best in the league but financially how long can they keep it up. With a $160m payroll this season and a $158m payroll next season while having a $120m budget will they be able to keep stars such as starter Micah Laird, first basemen Turell Morris, and outfielder Dave Wagner? Not to mention the payday that now 24 year old Seth Blankenship will want come 2038. Speaking of Seth he's on pace for 38 HR's and 45 SB's...40/40 here we come!

    3. Phoenix, Syracuse, and Indy are all a league best 15-6 so far in June. The Roadrunners are only a half game out of the Bock lead, Syracuse is 4.5 up on Wilmington in the Ale, and Indy has the biggest lead in the BLB with a 5.5 game advantage over Miami in the Lager. Meanwhile Montreal is 2-19 and cruising towards the first pick in next years draft.

    4. The IL wildcard could be a lot of fun...and drama...this season as currently eight teams are battling for the four spots and top to bottom is separated by only four games. The lowest odds right now out of the group belong to Batavia who currently sit at 23.7%. For a team that is now 32-19 over the last two months we're gonna go out on a limb and say those numbers will increase. Considering that Windy City is only up by a half game while Carolina is up by 2.5 and there are ten teams battling for six spots.

    5. All-Star voting is going strong as Johnny Swope leads the IL and RJ Kapper leads the DL in votes. The game will be played July 17th and there are a few fresh faces that might be making their first appearance. So far Phillip Kloph (CAR), Dave Hoyt (CAR), Barton Mejia (CHI), Erik Harrell (WAS), Edwin Meck (SYR), Wilson Jerez (NO), Dusty Kocurek (NO), and Pat Moore (SYR) would all be selections if the votes were tallied today.

Stupid Kodiak fans! We lose in the Wild Card game in 2032, as we take it right down to the wire... How do Kodiak fans respond to that excitement the next year... Oh yeah! Less than half as many fans show up!! Assholes!

So, how many weeks in a row is that with SYR at #1? Are they for real?

That IL Wild Card will be nuts! Currently 10 of the 12 teams are 0.500 or better... Could lead to quite a fire sale of high quality items in California if that team does; come together soon!

IF they keep pitching like they are right now... I'd say yes!

We finish with 15 of our final 17 games on the road... Wow!!

My guess is that will kill any chances we have, unless, we are, somehow, way up by the time that gauntlet begins!

Don't call us out. We're trying to fly under the radar (despite the fact that we keep making headlines in the DK!).
