The Snappers stay on top with a 5-1 week as they now have a 3.5 game lead over Wilmington in the Ale. Other big weeks belonged to Seattle, New Orleans, and Phoenix who all went 5-1. Those three teams are all now .500 or better as Phoenix is only a half game out of the Bock lead while New Orleans is only three back from Indy in the Lager. On the other side of life Montreal and LAD both went 0-6. The Exports have lost nine in a row, are now 11-52 overall, and might threaten the record for most losses in a season held by the 1981 California Wildfire.

Performance of the Week
P Pat Schick - On June 16th against Carolina he went 8.1 innings, allowed two hits, no runs, and struck out eight in an 8-0 Knights victory. On the year the 30 year old is 7-3 with a 2.41 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 158 ERA+.
Injury of the Week
3B Pat 'Melody' Nunes - After a huge collision at third involving Ricky Figueroa to end the 2nd inning on June 13th, Nunes hobbled over to the dugout and was immediately taken inside the clubhouse. X-rays later showed he had fractured ribs and will be out at least a month. The 26 year old was having his most successful season to date by hitting .281/.341/.481 with 11 HR's and 34 RBI's while playing 54 games at third.
Prospect of the Week
P Cy Rocha - The 1.1 pick of the 2035 came in as the #1 overall pitching prospect in the BLB the day after the draft. His first start was a little rocky as he gave up nine hits and seven runs in only 3.1 innings pitched but the sky is the limit for this 21 year old who throws a 100 mph fastball and was a two time NCAA All-Star.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. 'Two Ton' is back in the DK news as he now leads the BLB with 21 home runs. He hit five home runs this last week and is one of the main reasons Syracuse is leading the Ale. He's on pace for 55 this season which is still a far cry from that absurd 2030 season when he hit 69.
2. Last season Jaime Rush swiped 81 bases. This season RF Tony Chieregati of Hartford and Ed Gainer of Wilmington are currently in the lead with 20 and projected to each reach 51. Meanwhile 'Toro' only has 16 and is projected to reach just 40 on the season. Where did all the runners go?
3. Has the torch been passed in the Stout? Carolina went 18-10 in May and are now 9-5 in June and have a 2.5 game lead over Washington. In the IL they are 2nd in runs scored and 3rd in runs allowed while leading in slugging and home runs. The oldest hitter is 32 year old Pat Pierce who came to Carolina from Davenport in the dispersal draft in 2027. Everyone else is in their mid to early 20's while 21 year old Rory Elia is turning into one of the premier players in the league.
4. The 2035 draft is over and the Batavia Red Jackets still have the top minor league system in the league. After starting out a shocking 4-16 they are now 32-33...and still in 5th place in the Stout! They are only 2.5 games out of the final wildcard spot though and they have more than enough talent to compete with anyone in the IL. Throw in that #1 system and we wouldn't be surprised if they win a Brewmasters in the next five seasons.
5. Phoenix has been under league control but a new GM is being vetted by the commissioners office and should take over at the end of this season if all goes well. After last year's debacle in ticket sales the financials were evaluated and the Road Runners already have had 137,947 more fans come to the park this season with 55 more home games to go. Season tickets are up 223%, attendance per game is up 271%, and they have already almost doubled their season ticket revenue from last season. Combine that with the increased media revenue and a solid young team and they appear to be on the rise.
