Syracuse moves back to the top with a 4-2 week that included a three game sweep of Montreal and taking one of three against Phoenix. The only team to do better was their division rival Wilmington who went 5-2 and are now only two games back from the Snappers for the Ale lead. On the flip side Pawtucket and New Orleans both went 2-5 as the Dukes fall below .500 but are only five games out of the Lager lead. Some team leaders for the week: Seattle and Wilmington hit .303, Syracuse had a 1.80 ERA and allowed only 12 runs in six games, Windy City and Wilmington stole 11 bases, and Los Angeles and Baltimore struck out 58 opposing batters.

Performance of the Week
P Ian Ammons - On June 3rd against Santo Domingo he allowed only one hit in eight innings while striking out eight in a 4-0 Whalers victory. On the season the 28 year old is 4-3 with a 2.97 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 132 ERA+.
Injury of the Week
CF Jordan 'Rascal' Reeves - The rookie only played in five games last season and was projected by many to be a big part of Windy City's success this season. Unfortunately on June 1st against Batavia he strained his hamstring while making a play in center and will be out for at least six weeks. So far in 48 games he was hitting .258/.327/.355 with 12 RBI's and 11 SB's while posting a -1.9 ZR in centerfield. Not star stats by any means but he's only projected to get better both behind in the plate and in the field and could be an All-Star before we know it.
Prospect of the Week
1B Forbes Breid - The 20 year old led the NCAA with a .392 average while hitting 2 HR's and driving in 33 runs over 49 games. Scouts believe he has a chance to develop decent power or possibly transition to the outfield. He's also a team leader and is known to stick around and help clean up after games.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. We missed the end of the feeder playoffs last week so here is a quick recap. At the High School level the Lake Travis Captains beat out Poly Prep two games to one to take their first ever HS championship. They won game three 9-5 by scoring runs in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings and 1B Cody Masengil was named the MVP after hitting .545 with 1 HR in the series. In the NCAA the Pacific Tigers went back to back as they beat out Cal State two games to one to take their second straight title. The MVP was 2B Kobie Hong who hit .500 with 2 HR's and 5 RBI's over the three games. Finally in the CCBL as discussed a few weeks back the Yartmouth-Dennis Red Sox captured the Cape Cup after beating the Cotuit Kettleers two games to none.
2. The Boise Bluegills continue to be the pride of the Rookie League as they currently sit 21-5 and lead the league in several offensive categories. 1B Bryce Wallace, who was picked in the 2nd round of the 2032 draft, is a big reason why as he's hitting .366/.421/.741 with 12 HR's and 39 RBI's. He leads the entire RL in home runs, RBI's, SLG, hits, total bases, ISO, and OPS+. His grandfather was Chris Wallace who played in the inaugural 1978 season with Hartford and then five more seasons before retiring. Meanwhile his cousin is Tom Wallace who was a star back at Oklahoma in 2000-01 but only played in 17 BLB games after being drafted in the 3rd round by Syracuse in 2021.
3. Tom Wood made it 47 games in the BLB before being fired as assistant GM by the Seattle Pilots. After playing in the BLB from 2013 until 2030 as a reliever/closer he got into coaching last season and was a surprise hire this off-season. Word from the organization is that he mismanaged the travel plans for the front office several times, but the real rumors revolve around team funds being used at some of the seedier establishments around town for his personal pleasure. He was replaced by Tom Larew who played for Baltimore back in 2005 and retired in 2009.
4. There were ten 'notable' games this week as decided by advanced computer analytics and California played in five of them, winning three and losing two. The team with more off-season press than anyone has finally climbed above .500 as they are now 27-25 and one back in the Bock. The game of the week though belonged to Seattle and Baltimore which was played on May 31st. Baltimore scored seven runs in the first inning and their win probability was 96%. Seattle answered though with 1 in the first and 4 in the third before the teams exchanged runs down the stretch. With Seattle still down 9-6 in the 8th, Tom Stark hit a three run home run to tie it up. The game went to extras before Seattle first basemen Ethan Broadbent hit a one out solo shot in the bottom of the 10th off of Johnny 'Big Thunder' McCullough to end it and complete the comeback.
5. Dylan Ownes is now nine home runs short of 500 for his illustrious career. The 38 year old is projected to reach 502 in what might be his final season. That will still put him an amazing 110 behind Jamie O'Hearn. Speaking of O'Hearn the 41 year old has been in the Rum Runners AAA club the last two seasons. He's currently hitting .250/.342/.265 and is a leader on the team but has made it clear he will be hanging it up soon. The 9x All-Star, 8x Designated Driver, and 2021 Stout Slugger winner hit 558 home runs with Pittsburgh, 49 with Denver, and 5 with Chicago before signing with SDR on a minor league deal in 2034 in hopes of one last shot.
