The Snappers are the winners of the week after going an outstanding 7-0 with sweeps of Indy and Montreal. All though they hit .301 of the week, tops in the league, it was their pitching that shut down the opposition. In seven games they allowed only eight runs for a 1.04 ERA. Carolina was the runner up with a 6-1 week after sweeping a four game series against California and taking two of three from Seattle. Meanwhile Montreal went 0-7 and Batavia, Toronto, and Denver all went 1-6. The Exports are now 0-13 on the year while Batavia is a shocking 1-12.

Performance of the Week
CF Rory Elia - On April 16th against Seattle he hit three home runs and drove in five runs during a 6-1 Tobs victory. Currently on pace for 112 home runs on the year the 21 year old won't quite reach that mark but he's an easy pick now to be the future IL Stout Slugger. His seven home runs and eleven RBI's were tops for the week and he leads the BLB in home runs.
Injury of the Week
C Josh Allen - The undrafted free agent was signed by Washington back in 2024 and has turned into a four time All-Star who won a DWI in 2028, was the IL Designated Driver at catcher in 2031 and helped the Bats win the 2032 Brewmasters Cup. In 12 games this year he was hitting .293/.442/.561 with 2 HR's and 8 RBI's before straining his PCL on April 22nd running the bases against Phoenix. Down 2-1 in the 8th he helped spark a big four run rally with a double that scored Killian Pena but Allen came up hobbled after a close play at second. He was removed from the game and the early diagnosis from the organization says he will be out at least a month.
Prospect of the Week
LF Grant Hockensmith - The 20 year old from the CCBL Harwich Mariners is hitting .272/.503/.632 with 11 HR's and 31 RBI's in 32 games. Last season he was the CCBL Outstanding Hitter after hitting .314/.515/.830 with 25 HR's and 63 RBI's in 47 games. Coaches say he is one of the team leaders who does a good job keeping the clubhouse in order.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. In the second brawl that has marred the BLB since opening day the Los Angeles Dinos and Philadelphia Freedom got into it on April 19th. It started in the top of the 2nd after Tom Allgood cranked a solo shot off of Casper Schmidt. Robby Goss came up to bat next and on the 6th pitch of the at bat got drilled by Schmidt in the back. Not taking kindly to the assault he charged the mound an attempted to initiate his own assault by flailing around wildly at Schmidt and the rest of the infield that came to his defense. Goss was suspended four games and Schmidt got nine.
2. Wilmington is 11-2 and is off and running for the season...literally. Has their even been a team that steals bases like the Clowns? They stole 13 more this week giving them 25 on the season, 12 more than Windy City who's in second place. In the previous five seasons they have swiped 960 bases, 151 more than the Bulldogs who are next on the list.
3. With Syracuse going 7-0 this week we figured we better give some love to Turell 'Two Ton' Morris. Replaced in the DK's heart by teammate Seth Blankenship poor 'Two Ton' didn't even make the season preview. On the year though he's hitting .279 with 4 HR's and 8 RBI's which puts him on pace for a 50/100 season. I guess when you have the mostly unlikely three year stretch in BLB history by hitting 181 home runs that when you hit 'only' 39 last season you fall off the radar. Well no more...'Two Ton' is back!
4. Windy City started out 2-4 and hit.200 for the first week and hitting coach Tom Anning promptly got the axe. In his first BLB season Anning lasted eight games and Dusty Blocker was quickly hired to replace him. In the four games since he was hired the Blues are 4-0. Blocker played college ball at Stanford and was drafted by New York back in 2004. He played in three BLB season before retiring at the age of 35 in 2017.
5. Interleague kicks off this week. Some notable series: Baltimore at Hartford, Seattle at Santo Domingo, New York at Pittsburgh, and California at Indianapolis.
