The Stout training continues to steamroll anyone in their path as Baltimore and Washington both go 7-0 on the week. The Bulldogs have now won 13 in a row while the Bats have won 10 straight. Another big week belonged to the Rum Runners who went 6-1 and have now won 23 out of their last 31 games. On the other side of the life things went bad for LAD who went 0-7 and have now lost eleven in a row, while Montreal was right on their heels with a 1-6 week.

Performance of the Week
P Jayden Adams - Against Philly on August 6th he went eight innings and allowed only one hit while striking out nine in a 5-0 Kodiaks victory. On the year the 24 year old is 5-7 with a 5.58 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in his first full BLB season.
Injury of the Week
P Baz bin Ra'id - The 24 year old out of Afghanistan signed a minor league contract with Denver back in 2026 and slowly worked his way to the BLB last season. He was a 2030 Bush All-Star, recipient of the 2032 AA Outstanding Pitcher award and won the 2033 Horizon League title with Tuscon. This year he was 6-8 with a 3.56 ERA in 20 games started before tearing his labrum in a game against Phoenix last week. He will be out the rest of the season.
Prospect of the Week
DH Robert 'Stretch' Jessee - The possible next BLB superstar continues to carve up AAA at only 20 years old. Scouts say "hustle is at the top of his game" and he's also been rated highly in loyalty and intelligence. He was the 1.1 of the 2031 draft and is currently ranked #8 in the top prospect list. If he's eight we'd really like to see how good one to seven will end up.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Word out of Philly is that their front office is "furious" with recent play and will shake it up if things don't change. They were 30-18 at the end of May but since then have gone 24-33 and are now 11.5 games out of the Stout lead and barely holding onto the third wildcard spot. During that stretch though they were barely outscored 241-245 and still have a 84.3% chance of making the playoffs, so maybe it's not quite time to blow it up yet.
2. Rory Elia of Carolina hit five home runs and drove in eight this week, nobody bested him in either category. When it came to quality over quantity though Micah Smith of Baltimore has to get the nod this week. On August 1st he hit a three run shot in the 6th giving Baltimore a 5-3 lead over Carolina which turned out to be the final score. On August 4th he hit a solo shot in the 7th against LAD which once again put Baltimore up 3-2 and was the final score, and on August 5th he hit a walk-off home run against LAD with two outs and two strikes to win the Bulldogs 12th straight and send the home crowd into a frenzy.
3. At the ripe old age of 32 Johnny Swope is still putting up the big numbers. This year he's hitting .300/.365/.581 with 27 HR's and 62 RBI's and is currently ranked #2 in the Top Batters list by the OSA. He is also just five home runs shy of 400 and is sixth among active players. Him and Ron Snider (402) should pass Mike Morla (421) and Dave Ingram (476) in the next few seasons but if they want to reach Jamie O'Hearn, who has over a 200 career lead, it is going to take a while.
4. Speaking of records Jaime Rush has been on a tear this year on the base paths. His 53 steals is 24 more than 2nd place which is held by Xavier Parks and Tom Martin. He's on pace for 82 which would eclipse his previous high of 76 back in 2028. His next stolen base will tie him career wise among active players with Ricky Figueroa and he has a good shot to pass Jamie Kitchen to move into third by the end of the season.
5. Once Friday rolls around this week Interleague is back. Starting on the 11th we get seven straight days of IL against DL. Some of the series we are looking forward to are: Baltimore at Maine, Washington at Indy, Hartford at Seattle, and Pittsburgh at Batavia.
