Seattle is at top of the rankings after sweeping both Phoenix and LAD and now has a 17.5 game lead in the Bock after winning nine straight. Meanwhile not to be outdone Baltimore moves within a half game of the Stout lead by sweeping both Washington and Batavia. Carolina and Santo Domingo also had good weeks by going 5-1 while Batavia's 'Summer of Power' tour bus lost a wheel and they went 1-5. Phoenix, Philly, and LAD also went 1-5 to keep them company. With everyone playing six games some stats of the week: SDR hit 17 home runs, scored 62 runs and hit .356, Wilmington swiped nine bases, SDR also had a 2.18 ERA and Wilmington struck out 52 batters. So basically only SDR and Wilmington played this week.

Performance of the Week
C Ian 'Pickles' James - In the trend of the week with SDR players dominating the news James turned in the #1 batting performance of the year on July 30th against Montreal. In five at bats he had three hits, two home runs, and drove in seven during an 18-2 victory. His game score of 108 is 12 points higher than 2nd place and on the year he's now hitting .294/.353/.623 with 32 HR's and 79 RBI's.
Injury of the Week
P Khalil Corey - Seattle loves to sign injured players for their trainer to practice on so that he can prevent injuries to current players. Unfortunately even after signing injured Gerardo Semiday on July 26th they still had Corey go down on July 30th for 2-3 months with shoulder inflammation. On the year the 37 year old is 7-1 with a 1.66 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 35 games.
Prospect of the Week
3B Jaxson Neal - At only 16 years old the organization requested an age check when he showed up with a full beard after signing with Montreal as an IAFA for $5,000,000. He was told to shave it off for his official photo but already had a goatee by afternoon. Regardless the "16" year old has amazing hitting potential per the scouts and the ability to someday play either the infield or outfield.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. What a week for Santo Domingo. They went 5-1 with victories such as 17-2, 11-4, 10-1, and 18-2. How they lost a game 1-2 no one will ever know. They are now 1st in the DL in batting average, hits, extra base hits, and home runs and second in slugging, OBS, and runs scored. They are also first in hits allowed, opponent average, bases on balls, and strike outs. Smells like a potential repeat to us.
2. Last week Ron Snider launched his 400th career home run, this week it was Bruno Damours who hit his 300th. Both of them play now for Baltimore and are 5th and 14th among active players respectively. Snider did most of his damage in Pittsburgh where he hit 310 home runs in seven seasons there. Damours though has played in Baltimore since he was 18 years old after being drafted by the Bulldogs in the 1st round of the 2022 draft.
3. On July 30th Maine took a 12-7 lead over Hartford into the 9th and out trotted setup man Efren Heise. After missing most of 2033 with a torn elbow ligament he was off to a great start this year by posting a 2.41 ERA in 33 games. The first batter AJ Whiting then hit a home run. Dave Crackel singled, Tony Chieregati got hit by a pitch and then Zion Wilson hit a three run home run. Heise was promptly pulled only to watch Norm Cutshall single and Brendan Matson hit a two run home run. A shell shocked Maine bowed out in the bottom of the 9th and Hartford won 13-12.
4. Pilots starter Jacob Stokes is now 11-0 with a 1.89 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. The 34 year old signed a $90m contract this off-season with Seattle after Washington couldn't afford to keep him. He's won 13 in a row and hasn't lost in 21 starts dating back to last season. The Bats replaced him though with Sandy Perez, the former #2 overall pick in 2021, who they signed for $1.85m this off-season. He's now 14-4 with a 2.56 ERA.
5. In the DL there are seven teams with a shot at the playoffs with Wilmington coming in seventh with a 17.3 percent chance. In the IL though the entire Stout has a chance with New York coming in the lowest with a 27.2 percent chance. So like we've said before the playoffs come down to Seattle against the Stout.
