The Seattle Pilots 'reign' supreme this week by going 5-1 with a three game sweep of New York and move into the top spot in the power rankings. During the week the Pilots hit .300 with 11 HR's and scored 38 runs while having a team ERA of 2.78 and only allowing 17 runs. The other big weeks belonged to Maine who went 5-1 and are now only 3.5 games back in the Ale, and the Washington Bats who went 5-1 and hold a 3.5 game lead over Baltimore and Philadelphia. The not so big week belonged to Carolina who went 0-6 and are now two games under .500 for the year. With the 6th best minor league system and many young stars in the lineup I'm sure their fan base is more than happy though for the time being.

Performance of the Week
C Kaden 'Crunchy' Gaston - The 27 year old was a 3rd round pick by the Bats in 2027 and is in his 6th season with Washington. On June 25th against California he recorded four hits, drove in four, and scored three times himself in a 10-4 victory. On the year he's hitting .312/367/.591 with 19 HR's and 45 RBI's and is on pace for his best season to date by far.
Injury of the Week
2B Jamie 'Grumpy' Hutter - On June 20th against Carolina the oft injured Hutter hurt himself running the bases. He was diagnosed with a strained ab muscle and will be out for another six weeks at least. At 27 years old 'Grumpy' has a hard time staying healthy but when he does he plays well. So far this year in 52 games he's hitting .339/.361/.485 with 18 stolen bases.
Prospect of the Week
LF Fritz 'Big Dog' Finnerty - Drafted by Denver with 2nd overall pick of this years draft he's played nine games in the RL and is hitting .429 with 3 HR's and 7 RBI's. Scouts love his potential and coaches admire his work ethic. The 'Big Dog' is a potential superstar in the making.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Maine and Wilmington on June 18th was a snoozer then a wild one. It started out with Wilmington scoring one in the 1st. Maine then scored one in the 5th. At the end of nine innings it was still 1-1. In the 11th the Guides scored two but Wilmington answered in the bottom half of the inning with two of their own to continue on the game. Then in the 13th all heck broke lose. Maine went single-single-single-fly out-single-single-single-fielder's choice-walk-home run-strikeout. After it finally ended the Guides scored 8 runs on 7 hits and the Clowns threw in the towel by going ground out-fly out-ground out.
2. When 34 year old Gil Banda was claimed by Denver this week it was a homecoming of sorts. Drafted by Denver in the 1st round of the 2020 draft he played nine season with the BC before being traded to Baltimore in 2029. He was then traded to Hartford in 2031 before being traded to Montreal in 2032. He become a free agent and was signed by Seattle early this year before being placed on waivers and getting scooped back up by Denver.
3. Oh no not these guys again. Maine this year is 6-0 against Wilmington, Pittsburgh is 6-0 against Pawtucket and Hartford is 6-0 against Syracuse. In the IL Batavia is 5-0 against Denver and 4-0 against Phoenix while Washington is 4-0 against LAD.
4. Starter Louie Reutter for Miami was 9-9 with a 3.63 ERA last season. He signed an eight year contract extension worth $155m this off-season which raised several eyebrows around the league. This year he's 10-1 with a 1.34 ERA and 0.95 WHIP. Money well spent so far.
5. The wildcards are still going strong in the IL as three teams (Carolina, Phoenix, and New York) are within 1.5 games of the 4th spot. In the DL though Santo Domingo and Wilmington are tied for the 4th spot but the next closest is Syracuse who currently reside 4.5 games back from them.
