    Performance of the Week

1B Jayden Copeland - On June 30th he moved into the #2 game score spot this season with a three home run and four RBI performance in a 13-3 victory over New Orleans. Last season he hit still managed to hit .246 with 24 HR's after losing his spot to David Perry and this year he is hitting .215 with 11 HR's and 27 RBI's in limited duty.

    Injury of the Week

1B David Perry - For the second week in a row the Millers roster suffers a big injury. On June 28th against New Orleans the aforementioned Perry hit a double in the 6th and after sliding into 2nd immediately grabbed his lower leg in pain. Trainers were at first worried he had broken his ankle but it turned out to be a high ankle sprain that will keep him out for at least six weeks. Last seasons Refreshing New Brew winner is hitting .262/.338/.528 with 20 HR's, 53 RBI's and a 1.5 WAR this season.

    Prospect of the Week

P Rhett Pruitt - The 7th pick in the 3rd round of the 2030 draft by Hartford currently plays for their A team. In 24 games he's 4-0 with 10 saves and a 1.40 ERA and 0.97 WHIP. His fastball is over 100 mph and his changup is getting better by the week. At only 20 years old he could be a feared reliever in the majors in just a few seasons.

Five Things We Think We Think

    1. Seattle's Hisanobu 'Super' Maeda currently has a 22 game hitting streak but his 20th game was one for the books. On July 1st against LAD due to a 16 inning game he had eight at bats and only one hit, but it kept the streak alive. He flew out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, flew out in the 7th, struck out in the 10th, flew out in the 12th, ground out in the 15th, and ground out in the 16th. He was hitting .261 when the streak started and even after a one for eight day is now at .311.

    2. JJ Plumley is 1-6 with a 3.66 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while leading the league in strike outs. The main reason is his run support a game is at 1.9 with only Jonathon Dockery at 1.8 and Pat Green at 1.7 coming in behind him. This is his first season as a starter in the BLB and his first overall since he played A ball in 2025. Hopefully he doesn't get too discouraged as many believe he is the best young pitcher in baseball.

    3. Batavia's Norm Hustus leads the league in steals with 27 while only being thrown out twice. Just like many fans when his name gets mentioned there are many a "who?" that gets thrown around. Hustus, who goes by the nickname 'Balls', is a 24 year old in his 2nd season with the Red Jackets. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2029 draft and scouts believe he can be a really good contact hitter who doesn't strike out a lot. This year he's hitting .264/.304/.368 and if he can get on base a little more down the road he could steal 60+ bases.

    4. Masuho Ogawa for Phoenix went out of action on June 23rd and was placed on the DL with an undisclosed injury. It was later reported by several news sites that he "partied excessively" and after a visit to the hospital has been laying low and recovering. The 29 year old was an 8th round pick in 2024 by Maine and this is his 4th season in the BLB. On the year he's 4-2 with a 3.47 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 20 games.

    5. Reports out of LA say that 41 year Hoon Park is on the block. 'Yard Man' entered the league from South Korea in 2021 at 29 years old and has been a five time All-Star. With LA currently 34-48, Park has still managed to go 6-6 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 2.8 WAR. He's currently making $10m this year and will be a free agent come December.
