The Guides stay on top with a 4-2 week but New Orleans is hot on their trail after a 6-1 week which included a four game sweep of Toronto. The Canadian's may be rebuilding but the mark of a good team is beating those teams you should beat...and the Duke's did just that. Other big weeks were Seattle, Hartford, and Miami who all went 5-2 with the Whalers and Sharks needing that after a slow opening week. On the flip side Montreal went 0-6 while Santo Domingo went 1-5 and continues to struggle.

Performance of the Week
P Scooter Nackers - On April 18th against Washington he threw a complete game shutout with only three hits allowed, five strikeouts, and no walks. On the season he is now 2-0 with a 1.96 ERA. In his two season since coming over from Maine he is 17-6 with a 0.98 WHIP.
Injury of the Week
P Bill Roman - On April 13th Roman started the game against the Freedom but only made it 2.1 innings before having to come out with an undisclosed arm injury. After tearing his elbow ligament in 2030 the team was concerned but it was later diagnosed as dead arm and he should only be out several more days. In two starts this season he's 0-1 with a 3.24 ERA and 1.68 WHIP.
Prospect of the Week
P Keon Wilkinson - In 22 career high school starts he is 5-8 with a 3.37 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. His worth ethic is off the charts and he throws a fastball, slider, and curve topping out at about 90 mph. If he develops like some scouts think he could be a top of the line starter down the road.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Rumors are swirling like cold winds out of Montreal that the GM might put up a trade block soon. After losing seven straight they now sit at 3-10 and 7.5 games out of 1st in the Lager...and it's April 19th. Pitching wise they look average to good but hitting wise they are last in the DL in average, slugging, runs scored, and home runs. Last season Jamie Bisbee, Javy Gudino, and Jamie Henderson hit a combined 83 home runs. So far this year they have combined for none.
2. Fielding wise Windy City already sits at a +3.6 ZR overall for the season. On the other side Philadelphia is at an amazing -5.9 ZR after 13 games. The biggest offenders are Zachary Landen who posted a +15.1 ZR in right field last season but now sits at -1.2, and short stop Fred Connor who had a +1.4 ZR last year and is now at -1.9. More than likely it's just a small sample size but it hasn't helped the Freedom who are currently 3-10.
3. Hitting is down across the league so far this season. Last year the DL posted a .263 average and the IL posted a .262. This year they are at .240 and .243 respectively with both leagues ERA's almost down half a point.
4. R.J. Kapper hit for the cycle against Hartford in a 12-1 victory on April 16th. It is the 1st cycle this season after the BLB only had one the entire 2031 season, by Whaler's third basemen Dave Crackel. In 2030 though there were an unheard of six total. Jimmy Jeffs, Jaime Middaugh, Oscar D'Addona, Ian James, Dusty Collins and Alex Santiago all went cycling. It was the most in a single season since 1982 when an amazing eight players completed the feat.
5. The draft pool has been revealed, the picks are being sorted out by the commissioners office, and the 2032 draft will begin shortly. Also look for Hall of Fame voting as the hall currently goes every other season and the last vote was in 2030.
