Hartford takes over the PR for first time in a month as Washington goes 3-3 while the Whalers go 5-1. A sweep of Pittsburgh and taking two of three from Santo Domingo gives Hartford the best record in the BLB. No such thing as a championship hangover for this team. Other big weeks belonged to Philly, Baltimore, and Syracuse who all went 5-1 but the King of the Ring was New York who went 6-0 after sweeping Windy City and Carolina. Meanwhile Toronto went 0-6 and California, Windy City, Miami, and Carolina all went 1-5. Some team stat leaders of the week: Seattle with 13 home runs, Baltimore with 45 runs scored (10 more than 2nd), Baltimore with 14 stolen bases (zero times caught), Montreal with a 1.70 ERA, and Baltimore with 57 strikeouts (who are these Bulldogs).

Performance of the Week
P Pat Schick - On June 6th New York crushed Carolina 14-0 but the big story was Schick. In a complete game shutout he struck out seven, walked two, and allowed zero hits...the BLB's second no-hitter in a week! On the season he's 5-5 with a 2.99 ERA and 1.8 WAR.
Injury of the Week
,
P T.J. 'Hard Times' Broughton - He's definitely going through some hard times as there was a major setback in his recovery that was announced today. After suffering a torn biceps on April 25 he was scheduled to be back sometime in July. Team officials stated there was some recently discovered issues, surgery will now be required, and he won't be back any sooner than September. He had 14 wins last season in Hartford and was 2-1 with a 2.52 ERA this season before getting hurt.
Prospect of the Week
P Sheng Jong - With the draft over the DK will start focusing on current minor league players. Jong was the 3rd pick overall in the 2028 draft and has slowly moved up the Denver BC system since then. Last season in AAA he was 8-5 with a 4.30 ERA after moving up from AA two months into the season. This season he's 5-1 with a 2.36 ERA. He did play in three games with the BC but in five innings had a 7.20 ERA and was sent back down to cook a little more.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Last season it was Johnny Swope for Seattle that set the IL on fire. The DK predicted this season it would be Nehemiah Daniel (.303/.340/.562, 5 HR, 17 RBI) but instead it turns out it's going to be his teammate Jimmy Jeffs. The 25 year old Seattle left fielder is hitting .374 with 15 HR's, 41 RBI's and a projected 9.2 WAR. He is leading the IL in all three Triple Crown categories and is also on the .400 watch. He will have to hit .414 the rest of the way to accomplish that feat.
2. In the last DK we talked about Tom Lambert of Maine and his 8-0 record but we forgot to mention another stat, his run support is 5.8 runs a game, tops in the BLB. Ethan Beach of California is 0-9 with a 5.62 ERA. His run support is 0.1. In other California news they are 4-21 on the road...
3. The series of the week belongs to the IL where Washington travels to meet Seattle on June 13th for a three game series. In their first series the Bats took two of three from the Pilots with Washington winning one of the games 3-2 in the 15th inning. Before they meet up Washington hosts Baltimore for four games while Seattle hosts LAD for four as well.
4. In the DL eight of the twelve teams have over a 25% probability of making the playoffs. Hartford, Maine, Montreal, and Santo Domingo seem to be locks while New Orleans, Indy, Pittsburgh, and Wilmington will battle over the final two wildcard spots. Currently though Pawtucket and Syracuse are only 1.5 and 2.5 games behind Wilmington so it could be a great race. In the IL there are six teams above .500 and that looks like the playoff teams. Windy City and Baltimore are 4 and 6 games back from the 4th spot and their current odds don't bode well, but don't tell that to their GM's who are some of the best in the business.
5. The All-Star votes continue to pile up as Jimmy Jeffs has taken over the top spot in the IL while Ian James holds onto the top spot in the DL. Some potential 1st timers this year: Ed Mossberg (LAD), Dave Bickford (NYK), Dave Davis (NYK), Norm Cutshall (HAR), and Jamie Uva (HAR) all lead their respective positions in votes. We'd also like to unveil the new logo which will debut on all BLB merchandise this week.
