Seattle maintains the top spot and will more than likely finish #1 going into the playoffs. Miami goes 5-1 and jumps to #2 while Montreal goes 5-1 and is now only four games back from the final DL wildcard spot. On the other side Syracuse and Carolina are both battling for the top pick in the draft. The Snappers were five games behind Carolina and turned in a 1-5 week to try and close the gap. Unfortunately the Tobs are going down swinging and went 1-5 as well, which will more than likely give them the crown.

Performance of the Week
P Tommy Bowen - The 34 year old journeyman picked up two wins this week and is now 11-12 with a 4.46 ERA on the year. In the first win on September 23rd he threw his 2nd complete game of the season against Pawtucket. In a 3-0 victory he went nine innings, gave up one hit, and struck out seven.
Injury of the Week
P Tom Ryan - It was the seventh injury of the season that finally did in the 24 year old. In only his second season in the BLB he's pitched 46 innings with a 2.93 ERA and 1.33 WHIP and has been a bright spot in the Philly bullpen as a setup man. Against Seattle though on September 25th he came in and closed out the 8th before being replaced in the 9th. He was seen talking to the clubhouse trainer and after the game an MRI showed heavy shoulder inflammation. He will be out the rest of the season and postseason but should be back in time for spring training.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. The IL has been set when it comes to playoff teams. Baltimore and Denver might still battle for the 3/4 spots but it will Seattle, Washington, Philly, New York, Denver, and Baltimore. Meanwhile in the DL there is still a three way race for the fourth and final wildcard spot between Pittsburgh, Santo Domingo and Montreal. The Exports went 5-1 this week and are four back while the Rum Runners are three games back. Meanwhile the difference between the second wildcard and fourth is only 1.5 games...so basically we're saying the final week is going to be interesting as Maine and Miami are the only locks.
2. The Turell 'Two Ton' Morris train slowed this week to the tune of one home run, two runs scored, and three runs batted in. He's already set two records but will he get to 70 HR's and 170 RBI's and just completely obliterate them? He's also projected to end up one run behind Hector Chavez' run record of 152 set in 1991. After what happened to that Virginia team during the steroid scandal we're not the only ones hoping he breaks it.
3. Interleague play was voted in this week by the GM's around the league. Due to the short turnaround before 2031 though it won't be implemented until 2032 at the earliest. During that time a new schedule will have to get ironed out that we're sure half the teams won't like.
4. The Triple Crown seems to once again belong to Johnny 'Big Stick' Swope. Tom Clark hit .235 last week while Swope hit .522. He's now hitting .360 to Clark's .346 and it looks like it's locked. To be the third Triple Crown winner in over 50 seasons is an amazing feat.
5. It's hard to believe that 2030 is almost over. Congrats to all on another successful season and thanks for reading!
