  • Report: Seattle's Herrera May Be On Hot Seat

Manny Herrera may be done in Seattle after just one season as the manager.

A source told an SGN staffer that, while Herrera lead a team from the #1 pick to a Wild Card birth in his first season season, it wouldn't be a "surprise" if he's not brought back without a deep playoff run.

An anonymous Pilots player agreed, saying that general manager Patrick McLaughlin and Herrera have clashed behind closed doors all season. In addition, many around Seattle feel the season was won during the Free-Agency period which brought OF Manny Nieto and 1B Andy Ulloa to Seattle. The two combined for 96 HR and 229 RBI.

The 62-year-old Herrera was a surprise hire in the off-season with no seasons as a manager or above Double-A. He has been prone to leaving pitchers in too long to the dismay of fans and players alike.

The Pilots start their best of three Wild Card series at Batavia, 4:05 PST.
    Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
    Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
    Washington Bats - 1979-2013
