  • Millers Reward Vickers with Big Payday

    Pittsburgh, Pa. -

In Hollywood, Villains usually end up on the wrong side of the coin.

In Pittsburgh, one Villain is coming to work today with a lot more coin in his bank account.

The Millers have agreed to a new 4 year contract with Pat Vickers where he will take home north of 55 million dollars over the duration of the contract.

Vickers has a career slash line of .300/.341/.435/.776 with 150 stolen bases as the lead off hitter for the Millers. The 2 time all star was also the 2016 DL Refreshing New Brew. He's also the best friend of Miller CF Jamie O'Hearn, who was very pleased to hear the news when asked.

"I am so happy for Pat. Maybe even more happy than he is about it, I couldn't imagine not playing with him here in Pittsburgh in the future. He's worked his ass off every day to become a star player in this league and he's our heartbeat of the lineup. We've talked about it this season after I signed my extension, and he made it clear that he wanted to be here."

When Vickers spoke about his extension, the normally business-like Vickers was his usual reserved self.

"I'm happy to know that I'm going to be here. I love the city, and the fans, man, the fans make it easy to come to work every day. We've got a job to do and that's winning ball games. I look forward to winning games here for a long time."

Pat Vickers, The Villain, will be angering players in the DL for a few more years. He'll be wearing Black and Gold while doing it, and his teammates are happy to have him on their side.

Good for him. It's a great time to be a star second baseman in the Ale.
