I've seen some crazy numbers in solo leagues posted by OOTP members on the forum.

But I've never seen anything like that.

Even Clay's players didn't quite manage to put up those numbers.

He wasn't hacked into the game either as our commish never got to have the guy on his team. Absolutely destroyed any sense of immersion for me.

The league ended up dying when the files got corrupted and everyone voted to start a new league, but I for one don't miss playing against Brian Burke. 16 strikeouts in a full season. No way. Worst part was during his reign of terror he was on a cheap ass contract. San Diego won a lot of games those years.
          How his Ratings looked like??

I don't remember anymore as we moved to stats only at some point. I'll see if I can dig up older versions of the game with some ratings. I believe Contact and Eye were both maxxed.

            Edit:

So he was pretty much that good from day one.

If that was a Clay player, his contact would have started at 11 and jumped to 18 in one off season.

Draft stats that I found interesting.

                      As of 11/25/2019

4 of the top 5 hitters were drafted in the famed 2014 draft.
2 of the top 6 were drafted in the famed 2005 draft.

The best 6 hitters in the league come from two drafts.

How good was 2014? 8 of the top 20 hitters were drafted that year. Pretty amazing.

Does it matter if you pick first? Maybe.

4 of the Top 20 hitters were picked first overall. Probably not what most rebuilding teams want to read.

Interesting. Thankfully Morla was a hit (at least to this point) in California's rebuild year.

                          BLB $100 million men

This current discussions caused me to look at the largest current contracts, and how many of these guys are either on the trade block, or have underperformed since the big contract. Not sure there is any meaning in this, but it made me think about free agency this year and whether a large contract was the way to go.

Taylor Thomas $169 million 5 more years
Ethan Stuart $165 million 2 more years
Jimmy Gray $163 million 8 more years
Ethan Bafford $160 million 4 more years

Willie Fajardo $142 million 5 more years
Dave Harmony $141 million 6 more years

Johnny McDade $129 million 4 more years
Pat Evans $126 million 4 more years
Tadaomi Nishimura $123 million 4 more years

I'm not in that position yet, but yes, I've been thinking about it when it comes to the next 3-5 years.

I'm surprised by how large the arbitration figures are. I know guys are going to be asking for a lot of money.
