  • If the playoffs started today...

    DL
    1. Pawtucket (bye)
    2. Morgantown (bye)

    3. Dallas vs. 6. Syracuse
    4. Los Angeles vs. 5. Pittsburgh

    IL
    1. Philadelphia (bye)
    2. Death Valley (bye)

    3. Seattle vs. 6. Baltimore/Los Alamos (Lonnie Coleman)
    4. Washington vs. 5. New York

    ***

Long ways to go but this new format really makes things interesting. In the DL, the last place team is still just 6GB. In the IL, last place in 9GB, but the eight teams within range of a wild card spot.

I don't see it happening but it is possible that a sub .500 team makes the playoffs in this format. I think as the season goes on there will be more separation.

    3. Washington vs. 6. Baltimore/Batavia (Lonnie Coleman)
    4. Death Valley vs. 5. New York

I think PAW pulls farther away in the DL. Pittsburgh finishes better than Dallas, but gets the 3 seed. Morgantown falters down the stretch and can't hold off a late season surge by LAD. Z adds some pieces at the deadline and sneaks in as a 6 seed.

Philly and Washington go head to head all the way to the end and both have better records than DVS/Seattle who also go to the last week. New York fades down the stretch and is almost caught by Batavia and Baltimore who each acquire a significant player at the deadline.

I would be more than happy with this prediction :)

I think Pitt vs Paw is the most exciting rivalry in the DL by far right now, PAW with the last reminiscence of a Dinasty, Pitt always on Top... Lot to learn from them.

Amazing job by Seattle from no existent team to WC spot... Oh man, what this guy can do with 5 years?

Looking at the second half seems one playoff spot for each league is up for grabs.

          In the DL

Barring a collapse these teams seem like a lock:

          Paw/ Dall/ Mor/ Pitt/ LA

          Fighting for one spot:

          Syr/ NO/ Maine/ Indy/ Wilm

          In the IL

          Locked

          Philly.....yep thats it

Then 6 teams fighting for 5 spots

          Seattle/ DV/ Wash/ NY/ Bal/ Bat

Also seems to be more separation between the halves and halve nots the past few weeks so while its possible seems all teams should be above .500 (maybe DL has one) Its probably poor team moral starting to kick in with the losing teams which of course begins that whole losing cyclone.

Both Washington and Philly are making good trades to get better now. It's going to be a fun race.

Right now, I'd be happy if we could climb up high enough to get a home series.

Going by Pyt. Record, it would appear that my team isn't playing as well as our record. So, our Playoff Odds report doesn't give me much of a chance at catching Philly.

I'd certainly give Brad's team the edge, especially with the latest move. He's got the defense figured out. I was hoping my team would hit well enough to overcome our lesser fielding, but so far it hasn't quite done that.

Still, there's time for more moves, and I wouldn't count out Baltimore, New York or Batavia in the division either. A bunch of good teams in the Stout this year.

Lol, you starting again with this?? Still plenty of talent there. You'd have to "Pull a funclown" crica 2006.

Sorry , but that was alot of fun.

No, we won't tank. If I move Anguiano and Kemp here we might have trouble holding onto a playoff spot that's all. I have enough good young players to stay around .500 this season and will have enough money - even after paying Fajardo to fill any holes in FA we can't cover from inside the organization.

I don't think so, but I wouldn't complain. We've stumbled along all season so we could use you cooling off with all the homeruns.

I wouldn't be surprised if 5 teams come out of the Stout. Once Batavia wakes up lookout.

Seattle hitting a decent amount of homeruns...but overall if they were in the DL they'd just be above average.

Weird now without interleague seeing the .5 run scoring average difference. I still semi miss interleague. It was a great way to get a feel where your team was at. All we have is the Allstar game now.

Seattle has significantly more BB on the road than at home.

                              By design no doubt.
