  • Seattle group names the team and the ballpark

Seattle, WA (BLB) - Expansion Baseball Seattle (LLC) could barely wait for the press conference to begin to announce the naming of the newest franchise in the BLB.

"We are going to call the team....the Pilots!"

Silence amongst the crowd of media members.

    "The Pilots!"

"Isn't that the California Kodiaks Single-A club name? And don't they play here in Seattle as well?" said one reporter.

The EBS ownership group looked confused. They also looked very, very stoned. The group huddled and whispered to one another just out of the reach of the microphones. When they emerged, they were all making phone calls.

"We are going to call Kodiak's GM Paul E Cee and league officials."

After a twenty minute discussion the group was all smiles. More than usual, that is. Apparently things were OK'd by the league as well as the Kodiak's GM and owner.

"We have also decided to name the park, The Port, after the authority that manages the international trade and travel in Seattle. The Port of Seattle operates all the harbor facilities and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. We are very proud to have a baseball team and ballpark that represents the city. Thanks again to Paul E Cee and the Kodiaks!"

The team is expected to announce their minor league affiliates soon. The Kodiaks will be moving their Single-A club to a new location and a new team name by seasons end.

    Good times in the BLB.

Reminds me of something that would have happened in the old ABA.

    Well done, sirs.

P.S. You'll still only have the second best "Port" park in the BLB.

I've got another idea. You can run my AAA club. From what I've read you're a wizard when it comes to developing prospects.
